Venting about FI and finding a Band

Ok, so we have seen numerous bands live at showcases, and have one that we both really like. FI wants to keep looking though. He's so picky with music, he was in a band in hs and college, and I feel like he's looking for a grammy award winning band. I feel like, we've found one we both like, these are wedding bands not award winning bands, and I'd like to book. Because of finals and then the bar exam, I can't do anything wedding related late April-late July. We need to book as much as possible before then. I'm trying to be understanding, but we've already had four bands tell us they're booked for our date, and I don't want that to happen with this band. I told FI that we've seen all the bands I've wanted to check out, if he wants to see more, he needs to set up the appointments, find the showcases, do the legwork. He's so laid back about these things though and I'm afraid that he'll wait weeks to do so. Ugh! Sorry had to vent

Join the club...I have FH who really wants a band & I wanted a DJ...I gave in &we are getting a band...it is the one thing he requested for the wedding....Well now he is being picky with who we get...He doesn't want to spend too much $$ but you will with a band...So tonight is my breaking point & last band I will see

I know what you are going through. My DH is a musician and went to music school and thinks he knows everything about it. We had a big struggle and ended up booking a band that we both loved! There are a ton of bands out there and each one competes with each other and it can be really confusing where they all start to sound the same. Or, you may love the female singer and not really love the male singer…etc. Everybody has different ideas about what they want for their wedding and tastes vary. Go with your gut and don’t let your frustration get the best of you. Usually your best choice is your gut choice.

My friend got married last year and used Times Square Orchestra...they were excellent...almost convinced my FI to get a band but he really wants a DJ!

Also my MOH is using Renegage this summer...she said they are really good

Both FH and I want a band. He was in his college marching band and takes music very seriously. I told him that the really really really insane (in a good way) bands could cost us 2 or 3 thousand more than what our budget allows, but he said, he would cover over what my family is willing to pay. Fine with me. He knows that food and flowers are not my priority in the wedding. It is music and pictures that will mean the most to me. If people arent dancing, then the party is a flop.
