NWR-Anyone already live with FH?

FH and I are considering moving in together in a few months. How hard is the transition? I know we are getting married, but doing it soon makes me little nervous.

We moved in together after only dating for 4 months...we've been living together for over 2 years. It really wasn't much of a transition at all (other than going from a nice cushy house to a small apartment)- we love it!

FH and I have lived together for 3 years now - and I love it. I know things will change after the wedding, just because everything right now is pre-wedding - but I can't wait! I feel like since we already live together, we've got a head start on "the rest of our lives" - we won't have any of the big transitions.

FH and I moved in together after a year together and have lived together for about 7 months. I had always lived alone so there were some things that took some getting used to. For example, living alone, there is no one to compromise with on decorating, or where things should go, or the rule on shoes on in the house, or feet on the coffee table... FH is great about letting me pretty much do what I want for decorating, etc.... so its easier for me to compromise on other things. I am glad that we did all this before the wedding though --stress of the wedding is enough for now! I wouldn't want to have any surprises moving in together after the wedding.

We've been living together for about 4 years. At first it was really tough, because we werent accustomed to each other's habits. But after the first year, it was easy breezy. The most important advice I can give you is have patience, and learn to compromise!!

We moved in together after a year and a half of dating. I love living with him, and wouldn't have it any other way. There was definitely some transition and some getting used to, but I am happy that we are over and done with that, and don't have to worry about that in addition to the wedding stress!

We have been living together for 4 years and I love it. Remember that you have to compromise and learn to be flexible.
We actually have our "own rooms" though...so we have plenty of our own space. All of his stuff is in "his room". He is a major pack rat which drives me a little crazy.

huh? aren't you getting married??





FH and I have lived together for about 2 years we've been dating almost 7 (most of that time was in college - some in HS) I honestly think it was the best thing we have ever done. We got all of our issues out in the air before we get married (especially financial-I'm a spender). I know some people think it takes away from when you actually are married but I think it is smart to make sure you can live together before you get married rather than after....JMO

I've been with him for almost 2.5 years and we have been living together for 2 years. Its soooo awesome, especially waking up next to him every morning. For us, it didnt change very much except for seeing each other every day. The only thing I cant stand is he doesnt do ANY cleaning. I do it all.

We moved in together within the first year of dating. We have been together for almost 5 years now. We love it. It's like having a slumber party with your best friend every day. For the first few weeks there were some habits to get used to but once you can except that stuff it is great.

Its funny, I don't even remember it being hard (although I'm sure it was). We've been living together for 2 years now and its just so great. Its funny, people think it'll change things, etc. make it less boring, but it really doesn't. It is completely like a little party, like whenever he comes home, its what I wait for all day. I think it helped that he traveled for 4 out of 7 days for 2 years and now that he's home every night, its been such a great 6 months!

I am still in the transition right now, but I live with FH full-time. We are going to bring my furniture to his house soon though.

It is very hard for me because I am VERY close to my mom and dad. They would always ask me if I was sleeping "home" tonight, and I was very torn. I love FH, but I also love living home with cooked meals, sometimes laundry, and my parents to do me random favors.

I have to be the "wife" now, planning dinner (which never happens with my schedule), making lunches, cleaning and other stuff.

It is something that takes time to get used to, especially since FI pretty much only sleep together with our crazy schedules, but it definitely takes some getting used to.

My FI and I have lived together pretty much since college and it's been great. There's still excitement in our relationship and we can't wait to buy our 1st house together as husband and wife...we're currently househunting.

Fh and I have lived together since June 1999. Honestly, the transition in the beginning went through phases. First there was the "playing house" stage where we made sure we were home for dinner every night, and I cooked, cleaned, etc. Then it became more realistic, which was great b/c we were honest about each other's quirks and we really made an effort to help the other out instead of doing what we thought we "should do."

It was hard at first, we were both used to our own habits, and I can be very anal and I want things a certain way, and he wasn't as particular and could be a little messy at times. But I learned to lighten up and he actually helps out a lot, especially now in our own home (He does his own laundry, cooks often, takes care of all the yardwork, helps with food shopping, etc). I can honestly say it was deifinitely a great idea and it has brought us closer. We are actually a team. Is there still the occasional disagreement re: socks on the floor, dishes in the sink, or differences in decorating, absolutely, but there always will be and that's fine. We have our disagreements, but we never go to bed mad, which we felt was an important rule.

All in all, I think it was the best decision, b/c I really don't see married life being such a "shock" now. Yes, things will change a bit, once we are married, but overall, I think the living situation has helped get us ready for it.

I have lived with my FH since November and its been great. I thought we would have a lot of fights and that I would miss my personal time, but I really like it. We slowly moved into it though- he would stay over 3 nights a week, then 4, then 5 and suddenly he was here all the time. I think that made it easier.

The hardest part- giving up closet space and dealing with clutter since my condo is small.

I have lived with my FH for over a year now. In the beginning it was really tough for several reasons. I left my single mother living alone for the first time in her life and my FH and I quit smoking at the same time we moved in together!!! But we got through it and now we love it. We both look forward to coming home everyday. It was very beneficial because you are able to learn to live together and get things accomplished together as a couple. You also learn how to PICK YOUR BATTLES!!! Very important!!!

Gina...As petry says... You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose but you can't pick your friend's nose. What that means I have no idea!!!
