Re: Repost from BHB: Yay or Nay....Honest opinions please!!!!

I think I would use them. I don't know if this is really the case or not, but it seems to me that the problem *might* be the square stamp. I feel like a round stamp might work better because it seems like the overflow around the edges would be more even and regular. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the love stamp, but with the square points, it seems to make the edges uneven.

Definitely - same seal but bigger. I think it might have been what the above poster said that the stamp was square. I know Sonicstef did the wax seals. How did she get them so perfect?

The rose one is pretty. You are not a PIA! This is normal crazy bride syndrome kicking in. We all will get it.

Those are cute. I'm just not sure why you feel that you have to put anything on them?

Re: Repost from BHB: Yay or Nay....Honest opinions please!!!!

Go with the larger seal from the crypacks. Even if you could get the wax seal to work, I've heard they still get messed up at the post office and 95% of the time are delivered all crumbly.

Re: Repost from BHB: Yay or Nay....Honest opinions please!!!!

I personally really like the square wax seals. The "imperfections" make them look real and made with love. I do not like the sticker at all...not for an invite. Have you tried melting the wax directly onto the envelope? I did this for my STD's (but I used a round sealer made of brass) and loved the way it came out, and no, none of them were perfectly round. But I did use blue wax with a hint of silver, so the shimmer made up for it. Kate's Paperie has wax sticks that are red with gold and I think they'll look perfect! The girls there will even demonstrate how to burn onto an envelope...time consuming but worth it.
Otherwise, I wouldn't do anything...white looks fine, plus all eyes will be on the addressing in front. No stressing allowed!

ETA: In order for the wax to not crumble, you have to get synthetic wax, not "real" wax. It's a bit rubbery and doesn't crack...I got mine at Kate's also (I get everything there! ).

Re: Repost from BHB: Yay or Nay....Honest opinions please!!!!

wax seals i have always associated with teh old fashioned love letters like in pride and prejudice which is just perfect and sweet and romantic

i think i might even steal the idea from you now

imperfections are part of the wax allure I say go for it!!!

Re: Repost from BHB: Yay or Nay....Honest opinions please!!!!

i always wanted to have the wax seal. our theme is "romance" and that just says romance to me.

it's not necessary, but our envelopes are very big and very white, and i couldn't find anything with red in it that i liked, so i figured the seals where the way to go

i don't know what to do

Re: Repost from BHB: Yay or Nay....Honest opinions please!!!!

I think you like the wax seals, but you don't like the "uneveness" of the edges...and that's the part that is buggin the perfectionist in you...

I say try ROUND seals...you might like them better....or maybe a stamp that has a deeper etched image...so that you dont have to press as hard to make the design....

I think they are pretty and romantic. Fall2005bride used them on her invites.....and when I got mine, it wasn't crumbly until I cracked it open....

I really like the wax seals, I would go with it. I do have a stupid question.... how are you attaching them to the envelope? I always thought that they are done directly on the invite. I like the idea of doing them and then attaching them but how

TIA!!

AZ.....do what your heart tell syou

sounds to me that its something you like...romance is what you said it reminded you of

so go for it....dont worry about what anyone else will think.....my only thing is i would def send one to yourself first and see how the seal comes out

my stds were great but when our guests got them, the ink from one side, imprinted on the other and now i wish i had tried one first so i would have bought paper to line them with

Re: Repost from BHB: Yay or Nay....Honest opinions please!!!!

I LOVE THEM!!!!! I SAY USE THEM.
Yesterday I was looking for the faux wax in stationary stores near me but i couldn't find nice stamps. I'm kind of late for my invitations and don't have time to go to kate's paperie to buy them, so I decided not to use them. But if I would get an invitation with a seal like yours I would love it. I'm a perfeccionist also but in this case I think these stamps always come out this way.
