First Day of Gown Shopping

First I have to say hello to all the 2006 brides. I haven't been around the last month. With situations at home, my apt that I was suppose to be in already and work, I haven't had the time or been in the mood to talk about wedding stuff, but now I may be getting back in the groove of things.

This past Saturday myself with my mom, aunt and FMIL went to Princess Bridals in Farmingdale for my first official gown shopping. I was so nervous, but the lady who helped me as so nice and patient. I tried on 4 gowns and came to conclusion that my gown will be strapless and a-line. I had fun and one gown is on my list. I go back with my MOH next Monday to try on more.

Hopefully another 2 weeks then we will be in our apt. We went there last night and the walls r painted so now on to the floors then we will be in. After that we can begin again on wedding plans.

How has everyone been doing on there planning? Photo/video is next on our list. Any opinions on some vendors would be super helpful.

i'm glad you had a good first experince with gown shopping - it can be nerve racking. i haven't gone yet - most likely august or sept, the latest. are teh gowns in princess bridal expensive? fh lives right by there and i'm tempted to check it out - but i really don't want to spend over 1k on my gown.

so far we have the hall, church, limos and photo/video. dj is next on the list - i think, then flowers and invites.

Glad you had a good first experience...It sure is fun!

We are pretty much done with the planning..We are working on getting a band now & once that is done, we can sit back & enjoy our engagement & return to the house hunting!!

Hi Jenn! Welcome back! Dress shopping is so exciting! Did you take pictures?

We haven't made that much progress. We have the hall & the church. Almost have decided on the photographer and my friend's cousing is supposed to DJ. So I still have stuff to do!

I was sad that I wasn't allowed to take pictures too. I am glad you found a style of gown you like, that really narrows the field! I am also getting a strapless a-line -- they are very flattering!
