What is a good cut off age for children attending the wedding reception?

I have a VERY large family and I would like to invite as many as I can, only problem is some are (will-be) under the of 10 when the wedding takes place. Is it fair to invite older siblings and not the younger children. Or should I leave it up to their parents to decide whether they want to bring them?

What do I tell guest from out of state?

Well it depends if you want children there me children under 16 cause I want everyone at my wedding having a good time and not worrying about running after there kids you know.

The youngest is 3 but she is my FG...Other then that, no one under 17 is invited but that is only immediate family!

We decided not to invite any kids because we didn't want cousins and relatives to have to worry about their kids. It'll be a nice night out for them. Also, it was a matter of budget and cost for us. Our cut off will probably be 18. I think if I could afford it, I would not have a cut off and leave it up to the parents whether or not they wanted to bring a younger child.

FH has the same situation oh his side of the family...older siblings and then younger ones under the age of ten...we've decided to invite only family members 21 and over...if we don't our list will double
