Vote on Bridal Shower/Wedding list situation PLEASE
I am a resource room teacher. I share a room with two other teachers and two testing aides. Another teacher is also always in our room that we are close with. One of the teachers and one of the aides just started this year. We work in very close quarters all day long. I am not nearly as close with them as I am with my other testing aide and the other teachers (whom I have shared a room or known for 3 years.) I feel that I should invite the new teacher and aide to my shower and wedding since the others are invited. I know my shower is some time during the rest of the school year and I would hate for my room to be talking about it and for two people not to have been invited. Do you feel that I should invite them? Would you if you were in my position?

Re: Vote on Bridal Shower/Wedding list situation PLEASE
when i was getting married i was working in a nursing home that had just openned and we had new staff comming in all the time so i felt bad cause some people i clicked with right away and others well i had to work with them so what i did was i only invited those i either knew for a while(some i have worked with before) and just the one's i knew from the time i started, most of the new people understood and for those who did not i did say if it came up, i am sorry but i can only have a small amount from work due to the space in the hall i wish you could be there, it worked if that don't work say the same thing but add well when you get married you will understand how hard it is to pick ( if theyare not married) or if they are when you got married rememeber when you got married... sorry to ramble! just a thought! good luck!

i would invite them but if it going to mean not inviting someone you or fh want then don't. Weigh the options, then do what you want.

Re: Vote on Bridal Shower/Wedding list situation PLEASE
I am a teacher.. so I know how it is!!!! I would say to see how things play out.. if you aren't that close to them maybe just invite them to the wedding and not the shower?
i know at my job they usually give a shower for the bride with everyone at the school...does your school do this too? Maybe they can get involved in that.
I would see how things go and how you feel as well as weighing out your option with other guests......
I hope this helps.... good luck!!!

Re: Vote on Bridal Shower/Wedding list situation PLEASE
just to preface, i'm a teacher so i know the school dynamics situation! ... personally, i would invite them to the wedding and not the shower. IMO, showers are meant to be more intimate and not everyone invited to the wedding should be invited to the shower -- based on what you wrote, it seems these two women fall into the "wedding only" category! (JMO of course)

If it is possible to invite them then I would. If it's small and close friends and family then I wouldn't. I guess it would depend on the shower.

Re: Vote on Bridal Shower/Wedding list situation PLEASE
Both my FH and I are teachers who have worked in the same school for 15 years. We are having the same issue because it seems like the entire school is expecting an invitation. People are just dropping hints at an ivite. I don't know what to do. Of course there are people we want to have but not everyone. I just don't know how understanding they will be.

Re: Vote on Bridal Shower/Wedding list situation PLEASE
I probably would too...if its going to make you feel more comfortable then go for it. then again, I'm a teacher and am only plannig on inviting about 3 or 4 people from work (2 are bridesmaids) bc we are having a relatively small reception so I guess it depends on the situation.
