Day after activities--Belmont or Beach?
FH and I just came to the realization that the day after our wedding (June 11) is Belmont Stakes Day! We had originally planned on doing a "beach day" with all our oot guests complete with BBQ--very low key, but since FH traditionally "does" Belmont, we were thinking of changing our post wedding weekend activities. If you were from out of town (MA, IN, OH--no real "beachy" areas) , which would you appreciate more--a day at the races or a day in the sun?

Beach. Belmont on stakes day is a madhouse.
Our wedding date was strategicaly planned around the triple crown races. FH can go to the kentucky derby for his bachelor party, and I won't be known as the witch who ruined the preakness trip!

stick to the beach - Belmont Stakes is SOOOOO out of control, you'll have much more fun at the beach.
Bring a radio and you can still listen to the race!

I read an article somewhere (I think in the NYTimes) that all alcohol would be banned from the Belmont backyard this year. Might want to check that out if you are thinking of Belmont - it would definitely change the experience.
