Brazilian waxing...
Has anyone ever had this done...and is it worth it? How many times do you have to go back?

Re: Brazilian waxing...
I did it once. Now, I'm not big on pain but I do get my eyebrows and regular bikini wax done fairly often with no problem.
I cried. A lot. It was some of the worst pain I have ever had and I would never do it again.

Re: Brazilian waxing...
I've done it and it is so worth it. It actually isn't as bad as you would think..I remember the first time I went I made myself so nervous that I was sweating and wound up getting a bad headache and then when I was done...I was like "ok, it wasn't so bad". Actually each time you go back it hurts less because the hair is thinner. I also take two aspirin a half hour before I go. You should go back about once a month.

My MOH goes and is trying to wrangle me too, I don't think so. She said it's not so bad though and she goes once a month or so.

Re: Brazilian waxing...
SUre, but I think the waxing allows you to not worry about shaving for the HM or anything else... and, from what i heard is very smooth. BUT, I wonder if you would break out into rash or get bumpy if you are not use to it??? OMG, what a sensitive subject to discuss on this site....HAHA, I am the one asking all the specifics

Re: Brazilian waxing...
Well, if you really want to try it, why not try it out now so you see how you react to it (i.e rash, swelling etc) and then you can decide if you want todo it for the wedding.
My best friend swears by it...but I've stuck to regular waxing so far..

Re: Brazilian waxing...
I have extremely sensitive skin and I tried it for the first time a 2 months ago. I was terrified and did it as a present for my FH. The first time is a lot worse then the next and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Bikini Zone cream for right after....helps with the swelling, reddness and irritation, which only last for a little while right after....oh and by the way, it does leave you really soft and he loved it!

Re: Brazilian waxing...
I simply thank my mother for these good non-hairy genes. My sisters, on the other hand, have DAD's genes.
If you want to know real pain? Get a huge tattoo on the absolute lowest part of your back or pierce something - I've done both. Can we say OUCH? Then again I have a very high tolerance for pain.

Re: Brazilian waxing...
IT IS THE BEST THING IN THE WORLD!
FH goes nuts for it - and it is just so CLEAN. It's nothing to be embarrased about, alot of women do it - actually more now than ever. It's a huge trend. There are alot of great places in the city.
J Sisters is a popular one - they are actually brazilian and know their stuff.
There is also Bliss - pricey but worth it.
Completely Bare Salon
And the place I go to - Avalon Day Spa.
They are all good. Fm me if you have any questions.
Good Luck!

Re: Brazilian waxing...
I swear by it. I wouldn't do anything but brazilian.
I HATE shaving, its so awful - waxing to me is so much better. Just pop a couple of advil about a half hour before the wax and it will take a little of the sting off.
Just be very specific about what you want and if you're at all uncomfortable or if something is very painful, let the person know immediately. It only hurts for a split second, but it's DEFINITELY worth it!

Re: Brazilian waxing...
It's better than shaving because you don't get as many, if any, ingrown hairs. And yeah it hurts, but I think it's totally worth it. Try Maximus in Westbury.

Re: Brazilian waxing...
Possibly TMI Girls,
I got mine done before I went on Spring Break in Acapulco and it while it did hurt, it was so worth it. I didn't have to worry about "stray hairs" or anything like that and I HATE shaving that area. Plus, my FI had noooo complaints

Re: Brazilian waxing...
I love it for maannnyy reasons!! They ask you if it's your 1st time and they try and make it as comfortable as possible. It does get easier pain wise and more comfortable as you continue to go. It's pretty popular so don't be so shy when you go!

Re: Brazilian waxing...
I never had a real brazilian but I used to go to a lady who did an "almost brazilian"---more than a regular waxing but not the real deal of brazilian waxing. It was great when it was done but I do not feel that the pain got better over time. I no longer live near this lady and I have not found anyone who does it the same way she does.
I've been getting my eyebrows done for years and I don't think that has gotten easier either.
My friend who gets brazilians say that one waxing will last all summer. I do not see how that is possible and I think she's just wacky!!
