Rehearsal Dinner-- Chinese food?
FMIL suggested having the RD at a Chinese place since we will be having Italian at the wedding.
Part of me i a bit skeptical, but i figured i'd ask. Are any of you doing this? If so, have a place you can reccommend??

Re: Rehearsal Dinner-- Chinese food?
The RD is when the people closest to you get together and spent a night together. I say as long as no one's allergic to Chinese food then go for it. I don't think anyone will care what you serve. I personally would love to have a BBQ. But I don't know if FMIL would go for it!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner-- Chinese food?
I had my engagement party at Pearl East on Northern Blvd in Manhasset, I couldn't recommend them highly enough! They have a nice private room in the back of the restaurant that sat about 50-55 people.
FH's family is Italian and for a lot of them it was their very first experience with food other than Italian, and they loved the Chinese food at Pearl East. Also, the private room and the presentation was very classy.

If your guests all eat Chinese food, go for it. But, I would be certain that everyone is ok with that - I know at least half of the people coming to mine wouldn't be.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner-- Chinese food?
Chinese is my FH's obsession, so we're trying to convince his mother that we should go in that direction for the RD.
If you have a lot of oot guests, then maybe you'll have a problem, but most New Yorkers like Chinese food.
I think it's fun and different.
