Again NOT a newlywed...have another question regarding your wedding dress and FI

DId you let him see a pic of it before the wedding?? I told him it was bad luck...is it? Or is it just the day of the wedding he can't see you in your dress before the ceremony??

What did you ladies do??

No way, not even a picture of it....it killed me but not even close to the dress. It stayed @ my MOH's house after I picked it up.

Some people take pictures the day of before the church or ceremony. I think thats ok.

I am just a worry wort.

Nope! No pictures of the gown or me in the gown before the wedding!

ETA: I didn't care if it was bad luck or not - I wanted him to be totally and completely surprised that day!

no no pics nothing! but then again my dh got me back on that one! hehe he would not let me go with him to see his tux and he played on that, that it had lights and it glowed in the dark! lol but he looked great and it was a great idea when i did see him for the first time in his tux wow what a feeling!

I dont really believe in those superstitions but I thought it would be fun to keep a secret so I did.

I know plenty of people who didnt keep a secret so it just depends on what you want to do.

My husband did not want to see it or know anything about it. He wanted to be absolutely surprised and wow'ed

See my FI doesn;t see the big deal but I want it to be a suprise...thanks for your imput...just wanted to make sure I wasn't way off with this!!

He saw a pic. I ended up having to buy a new dress off of ebay, so I really wanted his input. He didn't see me in it though. I figure that the dress looked completely different on the model in a picture, than it looked on me in real life and by the time he saw it on me on our wedding day, he had completely forgotten about the picture anyway.

I wanted to, but he declined. And honestly, if we didnt have pictures of us, the only thing he would remember is that it was white

It is entirely up to you. I didnt let DH see a pic, but he had an idea of the style. Anyway he did not see it until we took our pictures, which was before our ceremony. So, he got to see me when we first met, and when I walked up the aisle to him. Both times were special. Some people say it is bad luck if he sees you before the ceremony, I just dont believe in that.

my mom was really against be showing my dh a picture so i waited he saw it for the first time when i was walking down the aisle of the church

I wanted to show him a picture of my dress because I was in love with it - but he refused to look at it, so he didn't see it until the morning of the wedding when we took pictures before the ceremony

Mine saw a photo of it from the website, but not the dress in person, or me in it until I was walking down the aisle. It is funny, but my brother refused to look at a photo of it because HE wanted it to be a surprise

Nope he was not allowed to see me in it nor see it at all.

No, I did not! Once I brought it home & put it upstairs I told him he wasn't allowed up there (we lived together by that time). He was ok with that. He is not & never was a snooper

I was so excited after I bought it that I explained it to him. He would have never been able to envision what I would have looked like. He knew from the beginning that I wanted a dress with sleeves so it wasn't a shocker when I told him mine did.

No, I never let him see it. He said he was happy I didn't. When he saw me that morning, he said it was such a great surprise to see how beautiful the dress was.
