Repost from BHB - Went to tailor and took my dress FAR away from her!
I just got back from the tailor who has made some LIwedding's brides happy, but made me panic and very angry. She charged me $150 (just my deposit I gave her before I saw her terrible work) for taking in a small part of my dress, ruining the rest of it, by bunching up the material. I was so upset and she lied to both myself and my mother and said, the bunchiness would go away - it was because she had pinned it back to take it in. She then told me she told us that it was going to stay that way, and that I'm not long enough for the dress...I'm 5'8. It was an absolute disaster, and the last thing I needed two months before my wedding. I told her to take out the little stitching she did and I was picking up my dress and bringing it elsewhere.
I know we can't bash vendors, but if anyone would like to know who I'm talking about I'll GLADLY tell you if you FM me. Just make sure you know EXACTLY what they plan to do to your dress before you give them a dime. I can't believe she refused to give back my deposit!
ETA: If anybody is doubtful, I have my before and after pics!

That *****. My seamstress has had my dress for a few weeks and hasn't even asked for any money yet. No deposit or anything. She's great! If anyone wants her info, she is an LIW tailor.

Thanks everyone. I feel better now that it's out of her hands. And apparently her floor was very dirty too because so is the bottom of my dress now!
