Any ways to get a good deal on a new car?

My friend was asking me about the Costco Auto Plan. Is anyone familiar with how that works? I went online and it seems they hook you up with a dealership. Is there much of a savings just because you have a Costco membership card?

Has anyone heard of buying a car in Delaware? I know they don't have sales tax there. What is the sales tax on cars?

LImom - I've never heard of using Costco to buy a car, so I don't know the financing.
This is what I can tell you.... If you buy a car in Delaware, you will have to pay NY state tax on the vehicle as soon as you go to register it with NY DMV. So your not saving anything there.
I just bought a new car a few days ago and this is what we did. We went to CarsDirect.com and put in all the cars that we were thinking about buying, and what they would charge us if we bought the car from them (it's a couple of grand lower than the dealer's MSRP). Take a printout of it, and ask the dealer to meet or beat that price. Every dealer we went to on LI met the price, and the place we bought the car went even lower. We wound up getting a great deal!
The other thing you can do with financing is look for banks online, and see what rate they will give for financing with them. Sometimes they will give a list of dealer's that they work with, but you can go anywhere you chose.
