My VERY late 11/21/04 wedding review-Floral Terrace , Twelfth night Photo, Royalty etc. with PICS& ETA A FEW MORE PICS!

I always thought it would be fun to plan my wedding( ever since I was a little girl-

All that went out the window as far as stress, family drama and $$$$$$$$-

But I will admit, that it really was the best day of our lives- worth all the struggles, scrimping and saving----- it exceeded both of our expectations so here goes:


ETA- we had about 218 people the day of I had cut my list by like 40 people when the invites were going out. ( thats where the drama came in) best move I made.

Church: St. Catherines Greek Orthodox Chruch My DH is Greek Orthodox ( so I decided to convert. The chruch & and our priest in paticular ( Father Stavros) very supportive.

THe Floral Terrace: A+ :
Where do I even start?

I love that place Marianne was our banquet manager. She was always accomodating, eager to answer all ?s and guide us throught this entire process. Always bending backwards and trying to help us every time we needed her.
George was our Maitre d on our big night he took us through each room before our guests arrived.
As far as one word to describe the FT-IMPECCABLE. - the food, the service 5*****
Our guests where floored- the cocktail hour was impressive according to our guests. There was room for everyone to sit down -

Dinner- Delicious- that was 1 of the reason we piked the FT. The food was amazing! They offered seconds- everyone was calling us and inlaws they were very happy and impressed.

Service- hands down incredible. The Bridal attendants even bustled my dress and removed my veil for me before my maid of honor and bridesmaids had a chance ;)
the waitstaff overlooked nothing

DH's boss' wife even kept doing the napkin test ( when you get up and see if they fold the napkin) and they passed :)
The foods great and they even made sure that they had a ton of Grey Goose for our friends. One guest wanted a second glass of champagne @ dinner- they brought him out a whole chilled bottle.
FT brides- no worries!

THey were wonderful and so much fun to work with. They are used to dealing with ethnic music and parties. We had a blast meeting them especially before the wedding. They got everything right and on point.

They had the task of balancing the Greek music with the regular stuff and getting all the non-greeks to dance to the regular stuff and vice-versa and they did it and well!!!!!

Everybody was up and dancing to all of it- young, old , whatever- we were thrilled with them and forsee them if we evr have a baby and christening.


Tuxes: A+ - Bell Formal on Bell Blvd. Matched a swatch of the bm's dresses perfectly. great sevice- no complaints/

RK BRIDAL- B+ - for my dress- I loved it, Nicole helped me pick it out. For the SELECTION and my dress I give an A!

BUT.....when the lady behind the counter took my measurements they ordered me a larger size based upon my hips. I knew it was going to be too big but they insisted.
WHen alterations came time to do I was charged an extra 100. to remove some of the excess material and it was considered custom so @ that point I was like- just make it look good.

The alterations came out fine, but felt that some of that could have been avoided.
So, thats why I gave a B+ as an average.



Twelfthnight Photgraphy- Mike & Dominic A+
We love our proofs!!!!!!! We took pics @ Astoria Park with the bridge and the city in the backround- it was great! When I showed my friends the DVD they got all nostalgic- wonderful- they have a great eye for pics and they also have fun with it and get you throught the day.

We have so many proofs, black & white I can't decide on what to make a thank you out of- much less an album! Definetly am using them in the future.

Video- John . - I am slacking on this- John is waiting for me to send him some pics of us from our younger years as well as an invitation from the wedding to put n the montage. DH and I argued about a video but John was recommended by a friend for his work and his price.( he works for himself)
I can't wait to get him the photos & the invitation so he can finsh my video.(waiting for mom to find me some more pics)

Bridesmaids dresses: Affordable Elegance on RT17 in NJ: B+
Carloyn helped us find a flattering style for al 5 of my girls- THe dresses were beautiful and were actually seperates.
The only issue I had was we thought the dresses were going to be in earlier then they were. Panic set in b/c it was 5 months but they finally made it in and all worked out.

Honeymoon: Royal Plantaion- Ochos Rios -
A+- 7 days
Great experience- that was also 5*****- they staff couldn't help you enough. The rooms were lovely as well as the beach. WE felt pampered and loved that area. We also left the resort and swam with the dolphins, and climed Dunns Falls.

Honeymoon stop 2- Couples Swept Away Negril- - 3nights
Negril was beautiful the beach looks like a big swimming pool but the resort did not compare to where we came from. The service was not the same - it was nice but again I think we were spoiled in the othe place.B+

We travel a lot and decided that
We would definetly go back to Jamaica-


My Makeup- A+ - love Rosealba- she came to me @ my MOH house in Westchester- she works for MAC in Bloomingdales White Plains- love her!


B]Hair- Ultima Salon in Riverdale (Bronx)- A+- - - This is a very small yet busy salon in the Bronx. Sylvia can emulate ANY picture you bring to her. Anna and Margo were great too- THey are fantastic- if you are a Bronx orWestchester bride call them! We went to them bright and early but it was worth it!


Limos- Royalty A+
2 White Stretch limos- Spotless, professional and Courteous drivers.- Thanks Manny

I was a bit nervous in the beginning as I was getting picked up in Westchester and wasn't sure if they were very fmailiar with the area - they were on time and just top notch!
Even the limo that picked us up from the reception and took us to the hotel on the wedding night was great.

Favors: Astron Gift Shop in Astoria- A- they were great to deal with. My inlaws kind of ran with this- we did porcelain creamer and sugar sets on a tray. I will post pic.
We also got stefona ( crowns ) there and our candles. My brother inlaw was our best man (in the greek tradition in charge of this) so we gave this to the inlaws.

Also, we got the ringbearers pillow and the flowergirls basket @ Astron. They took a basket that they had and matched it to what I wanted. I posted pics of all that stuff in the wedding misc. pic link @ bottom.

They were phenomenal to work with!

I am going to share some pics now, but some of the bridal party did not feel comforatble with thier pics online- I am sorry if you get sick of looking @ the same people but wanted to share a little something- so enjoy!

WE AE BOOKED FOR OUR CEREMONY AND RECEPTION @ FLORAL TERRACE I AM THINKING ABOUT GOING BACK TO RENEGOTIATE PRICE BEACUSE WE WANT TO ADD MORE PEOPLE TO OUR LIST...I AM DOING ALL THE PLANNING AND MY STRESS LEVEL IS HIGH...BUT WHAT RATE DID THEY GIVE YOU PER PERSON

You look soo pretty! The pictures at the park look awesome. Im from the Astoria area and was thinking about doing pictures there but i didnt think they would look that good.
