Body Rock DJ and other vendors....

Has anyone booked, looked at or attended a wedding with Body Rock? I booked them last month and I love them but I havent heard anything on here about them.

Plus, I booked Artisan as my photo and video. I really liked Chuck and his work is really amazing. You girls should look into it.

Let me know if you have opinions on either of these.

BodyRock Rocks!!

My bro and SIL used them for their wedding, and they were great. They played everything they requested, and they didn't get in the way w/ MCing or props (b/c that was what they asked). Anyway, it was a day wedding, and everyone was on the dance floor. My cousin who is getting married this year is also using them.



PS - I will also be looking into them when we get to that.

I heard good things about them but do a search for a review on here. Someone said that they subcontract out their work supposedly & you won't know who is doing your wedding until 6-8 weeks before. Not sure if that matters but I would post on BHB to make sure

I did not like Body Rock, I did not meet any of the MC's or DJ's, just the office manager and when I asked if I get to pick them she sort of snapped at me and was like let us do our job. So pretty much two random guys I never met would show up at my wedding, did not make me comfortable at all but I do see a lot of good posts about them so to each his own!

This is in reponse to everyone who responded:

Its true, they dont let you know who is doing your wedding until about a week before. Thats because you go in a week before with a list they ask you to fill out and bvased on what you wrote, they pick the guys that are most suitable for your wedding. I personally think thats a fine isea and it does not bother me.

Secondly, they are the recommended DJ for Westbury Manor (and a few other places) Whats good about that is that they have equipment especially designed for those rooms since they have been there before. Anyone getting married at WM should consider that. Also, you get the cocktail hour free.

Thirdly, Im paying $2695 for a DJ and MC, the deluxe lighting system (perfect for my room) and giveaways.

My FH and I LOVED them when we went in for the interview. We interviewed them and ONLY them and left a deposit THAT night.

So thats ,my opinion but to each their own.

Is it really true that just because a dj is recommended by a hall that they have equipment ESPECIALLY for that place? Speakers and such are standard, there are various things that can be changed such as placement of the speakers, volume control, etc. If a dj is professional, he should know how to control his equipment to accomodate any room, whether or not he has ever been there before. My FI is an audio engineer, and he would be able to set up his equipment for any place, or any kind of music for that matter.
Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that its not good that a dj has experience at a particular place, I'm just saying that if the dj uses the line that he has equipment especially for this place, don't go soley on that. Take everything else into consideration as well.

My sister used Body Rock and was not happy at all, She said for the money she paid she was disappointed. They didn't play anything that she requested.

Anyways, I think they are pretty good but I have seen better. I was curious to see how much they were since my DJ budget went down the drain. I didnt realize how much they were

I saw Starlight Express and I think they are a better DJ for the money. JMO.

I ended up seeing Body Rock and got a ridiculous quote - of course I added a few things to it, but the base is pricey.

It wasn't our style - plus we are really big on knowing NOW who our DJ is. I can't handle that stress later on. I'm hoping to go with a place that I can get an owner or one of the top people to do the wedding.

I used to work with this guy who also worked at Body Rock. He was an MC as well as a dancer and his then girlfriend was a dancer too. (Both very cocky people, I may add.) He said that the wedding guests always loved him, he always got big tips - the dancers made everyone get up and dance. But, he was always on the mic, making jokes and basically loving hearing himself talk. I don't like that kind of entertainment - I want to be the center of attention, not my MC! Just a tip from someone with semi-inside information.

I went to see Artisan last night by myself because my FI couldn't go and we are going back on Monday because I loved Chuck!!! I thought his work was excellent and the prices were competitive. I was very impressed because he spent alot of time with me talking about how the day would go and even made suggestions about having my entire family come to the house early so I could get pics out of the way and be able to go to the CH. That was something the other photog's we visited, didn't do.

Hi girls...
First off congrats to you all!
Having a 2006 wedding is killing me, but at least the time is going fast!
My FI and I just booked Body Rock, and I must say that at first, i was very hesitant, but i just went to a showcase on wednesday night and I watched them perform, I was really happy witht he decision. If you want a specific quote, this is what we got, just let me know and I will send you the info.:
Video montage, MC/DJ, screen prokection, props, video montage on cd set to music after the wedding

I saw their live percussion and to be honest i wasn't that impressed, so we didn't add that...anyway hope that helps!
