No gifts on Valentines Day
Is anyone else out there not exchanging Valentine's Day gifts because they're saving money? FH bought me flowers and took me to dinner last night (he has to work late tonight), but I wish I had a present to open... That sounds so bad!!! Saving money is so tough!

Doing the same here. I'm down to less than two weeks and to be honest I forgot it was valentines day! I wouldn't mind a present as well! Saving does stink!

We aren't going to dinner, FH is cooking. 
We did inexpensive gifts because we need to save our money. I just keep imaging our house and wedding both of which will last longer than chocolates or flowers.

We never do gifts on V-Day. Just cards. I won't even let him buy me flowers because they just hike up the prices today anyway. DH is making me a romantic dinner. That's good enough for me.

We're not exchanging. We did the first year and then we decided not to. We get each other cards. We always have dinner together at home. FI makes my favorite dinner and we put on a CD and dance together. In my opinion, this is so much better than eating at a crowded restaurant, paying way too much money, and then going to a crowded bar.
However, I do have a surprise but it won't be ready today. I bought FI an "engagement ring" and will give it to him as soon as it arrives!

We said we weren't...I still bought him a sweater from J. Crew that he wanted...I got 2 dozen roses sent to my office from my DFH

An engagement ring!!!! That's adorable!!! He'll be excited! Yes, I'm definately looking forward to the card... he always writes such beautiful things! Between us ladies.. I did get a little something for him anyway... (book of karmasutra!!!!) hahaha! A girl from work and I both got it at Borders. I was so embarassed bringing it to the counter!!!

Everyday is Valentines Day. (or whenever you have extra money to spend.)

Yep, we're not buying anything for one another. We used a gift certificate to go out to dinner last night and are using gift certificates to go out to the movies tonight.....its fun saving money, eh?

We are getting each other someting small. DH's birthday is Friday and mine is next month. I rather get more stuff for my birthday (I'm so bad ) but we've always done it like that

We bought small gifts, I got an iTunes gift certificate from him, and I got him a CD and DVD. We're going out to dinner, but we eat out a lot anyway. I can tell you this, we will NOT be givign gifts and going out to dinner this time next year, our wedding is a month after V-day!

We're skipping gifts - although we may go out to eat tomorrow night! Although I am a bit mad right now cause FH isn't even home (I think he mistook my desire to skip gifts with skipping V-Day! Grrrr).
We may skip B-Day presents too and maybe buy some furniture for the future home :)

Last year when we were still planning our wedding, we didn't exchange gifts or go out. We had a romantic home cooked dinner (I think it was me that cooked last year) and we decided that instead of gifts, we would write each other poems. I loved it!!
This year, DH is cooking for me (I"m DYING right now because I'm starving and it smells sooooo good and I'm not allowed anywhere near the kitchen!) and we exchanged very small inexpensive gifts.
I'm very happy with just some flowers and chocolate on V-dayor even just a beautiful card... to me it's more about what you do together that day than what you buy.
