OOPS: Forgot to add Poll... Here it is..Which Neclace?

OK, I JUST started looking for jewlery today (b/c I happend to come accross a necklace I liked at Macys in the book)... BUT... it is almost $500 and that's AFTER their, 1/2 off, with additional 15%, and this and that.. basically BOTTOM line $500! is that INSANE to pay that much for a necklace that i will ONLY wear ONCE??? what to you think??

The 2nd one is only about $250... but be honest about which you like better, and comment if it's too much to spend for the 1st one.. (i'm on a very tight budget...)- or if you don't like either with the dress...

oh, and i'll post a pic of my dress too....

i dont know how i feel about the white pearls with the Ivory dress though

... my opinion doesnt really count though, b/c you know im a cheapskate and wouldnt spend that on a necklace i'd wear once. for the $500, you COULD get a new dress!

While I absolutely LOVE the first necklace - I have to agree with Neenie that it is an outrageous price that I wouldn't spend. But this is YOUR day - not mine!

Yeah, that was my first reaction also.. and FH's for that matter, taht is't TOOOOOOOO expensive.

I think that the first necklace is stunning-but way too much money-There's got to be something else out there for less that is just as beautiful if not more so. I vote for neither keep looking for cheaper ones!!!!!!!

I have to agree with the girls. Too much money for both necklaces. But if you truly want to go with pearls I would say get a nice string of pearls that you WOULD wear more than once and than it is worth the money.

those are both beautiful... i'm biased though, b/c i'm wearing the second one. it was my mother's gift to me.

it's a lot, but i'll probably wear it later to another formal function. also, she had some pearls taken off to shorten the necklace so it would fall closer to my collarbone. the other pearls were made into post earrings.

if you decide to get something a little less expensive, try www.emitations.com. they have some cute pearl necklaces and jewelry.

I love the 1st one but that is a lot. Have you looked into Swarovski? The have one with the similar style but without pearls. I just got my necklace there and while it's not diamonds, it still sparkles like crazy.

Yeah, too much money to spend considering there are so many nice inexpensive jewelry out there.

The good news is that strapless dresses are very versatile when it comes to the type of necklaces one can wear so there is a variety of options out there. I personally prefer simple/noncomplicated necklaces with the strapless look (e.g. string of pearls, string of "anything") I just think it looks better without pendant, lariat, etc.

By the way, good choice of using pearls, I think they look great with that dress. Good luck!

I think they are both very nice, but yiu can probbaly get costume piece that is just as nice for half the price. Check out emitations.com or Landau at Roosevelt Field Mall.
