?? about period after giving birth...sorry if TMI

I just got my period for the 1st time since having Cassidy and it is really, really heavy. I had only stopped bleeding from delivery about a week before. Is this normal???

I got my period about a week after bleeding from the delivery too, and I was exclusively BF. Go figure! If I remember correctly, the bleeding was my normal period bleeding, maybe a little heavier though. I would think your period would be a bit heavier though anyway because of what your body has gone through. It's probably just readjusting now. If it continues past your normal amount of period days then I might call the doctor, otherwise I think it's fine. I'm not sure if it's different though for a vaginal delivery, or not. You had that, right? I had a C-section, so I'm not sure... Call the doc and just ask! I called when I first started bleeding because I thought something was wrong, but the doctor said it was my period. I was so upset because I was BF and everyone told me that you don't get your period while BF'ing boy were they wrong. Anyway, I'm sure you're fine!

Thanks. I had a c-section as well. We'll see what happens. It is definately heavier than usual, and seems to be heavy, longer. Maybe I'll give the Dr. a call on Monday.

the same thing happened to me when I got my AF and I also had a c-section. I just got my AF again last week and it wsa just as heavy. I hope it goes back to the way it used to be. I am going to the doctor on Wednesday, so I will ask her if this is normal.

My first two cycles after I had the baby were A LOT heavier than before the pregnancy. I was worried as well. The two cycles since then have been normal. [I had a C-section as well.] If you are really worried, definately call your doctor. Feel better!
