wagging her tail!!! When I tried to get her to come to me she left. By the time I came in & got treats & a spare leash she was long gone

A school bus came thru and must have scared her into the woods.

No luck on a walk thru the nabe ... I hope she's okay

If only my car wasn't in the shop I could have gotten to the spare leash I keep in the glove compartment quicker and maybe had a chance.

Oh No!!!!!
I hope she finds her way home, or that someone else finds her & helps her.
That breaks my heart.

Re: There was a stray/lost dog standing in my driveway

okay, lady, i have a stray story for ya! as a fellow ex-fort salongite, i was driving to dh's house b4 we were even engaged. i just pulled out of the driveway and was crusin' along bread and cheese. abou 7 seconds later, i see this sweet little dog walking along the road and i'm like HELL no is that little pup walking along this street. so i stop my car and stop traffic and coax her into my car. delusions of being a mom again to another dog are playing through my head...so i see she has a collar and her tag just has the last name and phone number. so i drive 7 seconds back home and go get the phone book. i do some kind of reverse look up and see that her owners live on bread and cheese. so i call. no answer. call back again. no answer. so i say'okay, i will drive to the house'. well, to make a long silly story short...this sweet little pup knew exactly where she was. she was at the bottom of her driveway. duh! either way though, her owners didn't even realize she was gone. she was loose and apparently was the kind of dog who would stay close to home but this day, she decided that she would take a litte walk.

i understand your intentions and chances are, she is home...that is all you can hope.

Several years ago when I lived in Nashville I found a kitten sitting on the steps outside my apartment. I asked around if anyone had lost a cat and everyone said no. I decided that someone had probably just dropped her off at the apartment complex hoping that some nice person would take her in. Okay, fast forward 3 years. I am moving out and have the cat in a carrier when a couple that lives upstairs from me walks by. The woman says to her husband "Did you see that cat she looks just like Lucky." Yep, apparently I had stolen their cat. I felt kinda guilty, but who let's a kitten run around in a traffic ridden apartment complex.

Pretty funny cause the same thing happened to be with a dog on Middleville in front of the VA Hosp ... stopped traffic, got her in my car, brought her home. She only had town of huntington tag on, was able to get her address. When I got the owners number, she asked did I have a black Jeep - it's blue but she actually SAW ME pulled over!!

Funny too because today this doggie reminded me of that dog!

Anyway, having three dogs, we know all the other dogs on our three connecting blocks to Bread & Cheese and she wasn't a *local*. I hope she either made her way home, was picked up by someone kind or shows up in my driveway again tomorrow!!
