Looking for Info on Chateau Briand

Being that it's pretty far from me I wanted to find out some stuff about CB before I go and visit. Has anyone had there wedding at CB or maybe went to one? How was the service? Food? Are there prices fairly reasonable or high? Being that there are 2 weddings at a time, do you even notice? Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks

Re: Looking for Info on Chateau Briand

It was one of the reception sites we looked at. It was very reasonably priced, around $85/pp for a Friday or Sunday if I remember correctly. On some nights, you can have the CH in their restaurant area and I thought that was really cool.

I wasn't into the multiple wedding thing, so that was a big deterrent for me, although I do know that they stagger the times.

The personalized menus they give you is a nice touch.

Re: Looking for Info on Chateau Briand

My wedding was there and it was perfect. NO problems with the Chateau whatsoever. In fact, they made up for it when one of my other vendors screwed up!

LOVE the Chateau Briand!

Re: Looking for Info on Chateau Briand

I went to a wedding there once.
1. It's beautiful!!!!!!
2. The food was AMAZING! (I had never eaten sushi as fresh; it practically melted in your mouth.) There was a lot a lot of food, beautifully laid out and great tasting. They did spend over $30,000 on that hall though - but you certainly don't need to get as many stations.

There are other wedding going on there, which is not a problem most of the time. I think we were the only ones on the floor. The only time we saw another wedding was when we went downstairs into the lobby for a breather.

I'd say it's definetly worth checking out.

Re: Looking for Info on Chateau Briand

I had my wedding there this past October.
The Chateau was great. We had a wonderful time and our family and friends all loved it too.
I don't regret my choice at all.

I went to wedding there and everything was wonderful, so I booked mine there too. I did't even know there was another wedding there. So far they have been great and they are pretty reasonably priced. I would definetly check them out. If you need any info FM me.

Re: Looking for Info on Chateau Briand

Ive never been to a wedding there but have been to an X-mas party and my college Formal there and both were great..The food and service were great and I think the place is beautiful. Even if theres another event going on at the same time it really doesnt get in the way at all.

Re: Looking for Info on Chateau Briand

Wedding was at Chateau Briand on a Saturday night this past weekend. As we walked in, there was a gentleman greeting everyone and directing them. The place looked beautiful and very deco I thought. We had to walk around and take the elevator as the ceremony was on the second floor. The bride setup the place really beautiful with calla lilies arrangements. There was a piano player and the music was very pretty which was very nice for the ceremony. When the ceremony started, everything was very quiet. Even the officiant said that we were the quietest group he had ever seen. In fact we were so quiet, that we heard music coming from another location. FH whispered in my ear as to how the music can be heard. I thought in my opinion that this was not good. Even when the officiant was talking, you heard the music. Only when the piano player was playing songs, we didn’t hear it. It was a beautiful, touching ceremony nonetheless. After the ceremony and the receiving line, there was someone from CB directing everyone downstairs where the CH was about to start. I was really expecting a lot more especially since I thought this was a Scotto Brothers’ place. I was a bit disappointed. Perhaps it had to do with the bride’s choosing. Not sure. As we came in to pick our placecards which were in metal fortune cookies(really cute), there was a tray with champagne and strawberries…(no one was handing them). So we took one and went to find our seating arrangements. We then found a table to start to mangia. It is one of the first few places that I’ve gone that there was plenty of seating for everyone. I gather it was because the CH had two types of food being served. (Chinese/Italian) I had a bit of everything to taste because I knew I had to do this review. :0)
What I Loved the most was the Penne a la Vodka. It was delicious. They also had eggplant rollatini, chicken with brocolli rabbe, clams with angel hair pasta which was OK and other servings of food which were OK as well. There were about 10 of us that went and all of us were a bit disappointed because we were expecting so much more. We then proceeded to the reception. Someone came by every table to announce that the reception will start soon and gave the name of the room. The reception room looked very pretty and it was decorated very nice with centerpieces that had rocks and goldfish in them. I thought this was really cute and different. I thought this was a nice CP to take home but we later found out that you could take the bamboo but not the vase.
I really enjoyed this reception because they brought two cultures together so nicely and it was rich in tradition and everyone got to see what happens at a Chinese wedding. I really appreciated seeing that.
And what I really loved the most was the band they had playing. If any of you ladies/gentlemen booked Sweetwaters…you have absolutely nothing to worry about. If I could, I’d booked them myself. What a great band. They played all kind of music..they had everyone on the dance floor. They also sang pretty good. There was a band member that played the Saxophone…he was really good and he also played during the CH. They really kept the party going. Excellent Band !!!
As far as the reception food, everyone in my table got something different. I got the salmon which was very tasty. They had seven choices from shrimp to beef, to chicken. When they served the food, it was cold. Something good though was that every time anyone would get up from the table, they’d fix the napkins. I thought this was good service. Wait staff didn’t ask if we wanted any drinks.
I thought I liked the place but it is a deco style and I wasn’t too crazy about it. It was nice though if you are looking for that kind of surroundings. Overall, we had a good time and we enjoyed ourselves. I think definitely the band helped tremendously for everyone to enjoy. We had a good time though and I feel the bride did everything nicely to bring two cultures together and for everyone to have a good time and celebrate with them.
