OK Back to Hall Shopping........

OK now that I am back to shopping for a reception hall......I need to make a list and I need your help. I know you ladies always have all the info

I am looking for a hall in Suffolk County (nassau is possible though).... That's going to be less that $100 pp before tax & all that (as much less than 100 is great)...For a Sat. Night in Either June or July.....I would love somewhere on the water. Any info would be great.....Including prices(iff pos) thank you EVERYONE!!!!! You ladies are GREAT!!!!

Re: OK Back to Hall Shopping........

Old Field in Stony Brook area. One wedding at a time on the water. I think their prices are pretty reasonable. More of a country setting though, very different than JA.

Re: OK Back to Hall Shopping........

I'm confused... I thought you had called off your wedding a little while ago? I'm glad to see things worked out for you though! I booked the first hall I looked at so I can't be of much help.

Re: OK Back to Hall Shopping........

I'm confused too lol....at first I had gotten fed up with all the stress I was getting from everyone about the wedding, so I just wanted to cancle and have a huge, casual backyard wedding....then I was thinking the only thing I would regret about that is FH not being able to see me in my beautiful white dress so.....we decided to just change the wedding date and still have it at a hall, I had some drama however w/JA about a price change and I decided to just cancle with JA and start hall shopping again sooooo....here I am back to shopping for halls.....I'm keeping all the other vendors the same though so at least that wont change.

What about Chateau La Mer? I think I remember you were considering that one in the beginning. You can definitely get it for under $100 on a Fri. or Sat. night in the summer.

Good for you! Do your wedding the way you want because you might not get the chance again. I have heard that the Harbor Club is really nice and responible - right on Huntington Harbor and Giorgio's is suppose to be beautiful and reasonable. Happy planning!

Re: OK Back to Hall Shopping........

I dont know too many halls that are under $100 at night in peak season. There is a book out though I think it cost me $6 it's called Wedding Sites and it gives you all the details on each hall, approx. price, location, etc. It might help narrow down the search though. FM me and I'll find the web address for you if you want it.

Check out Timber Point. Less than $100 not really a water view but it is on the great south bay on a golf course.

I would suggest Chateau La Mer also. I went to a wedding there a couple of months ago and it was one of the best weddings I had ever been to.

Re: OK Back to Hall Shopping........

hi - yeah chateau la mer has good prices and location...also captain bills bayview house where i'm getting married - on the water and good prices - awesome food, i've eaten at the restaurant dozens of times. how many people are you having? the only tough thing with captain bills is the cocktail hour space if you have a lot of people. the reception room holds up to 250 but i wouldn't go over 175 in that cocktail area. you can ask about having the cocktail hour in the restaurant (they have banquet rooms overlooking the water that are very pretty). pricing for a sat in the summer - probably in the $90's. Can't hurt to check!

Re: OK Back to Hall Shopping........

yeah it's crazy how the prices almost DOUBLE for a saturday night. i couldn't do a friday or weeknight/day since my FH is a teacher and could only take off a certain amount of days (honeymoon is over thanksgiving holiday so he only has to take 3 personal days). If you can do the friday night it's still a weekend and people will have just as much fun...and you'll save a bundle...check it out.

Re: OK Back to Hall Shopping........

Sunset Harbour in East Patchogue is definitely in that price range - one wedding, on the water.

Also try Medditeranean Manor in East Patchogue (not on the water but worth look)

La Grange Inn

You can get that book for free at Fortunoff's in the Bridal registry area. They have a few of those planning type magazines that are free.
