Has anybody been to or plans to honeymoon in Costa Rica?
My FI and I are thinking of going there for our honeymoon.
Any feedback, recommendations, advice, warnings, anything?
It would really help to hear from someone who’s been there, or hear plans and tidbits of those planning their trip there as well...
Thx!

we actually booked our HM there and changed our minds, well FH did, not his type of thing... try swag1016, she has been there, DO a search as well and you will find some reviews.

We are considering Costa Rica. Here is a link to Costa Rican hotels and activites on tripadvisor: Costa Rica on Trip Advisor.com
That site is great for researching any location, though.
Try moonrings.com too
Hope that helps!

Re: Has anybody been to or plans to honeymoon in Costa Rica?
So long as you are up for an adventure-oriented honeymoon - Costa Rica is wonderful. It's much more on the rustic side than luxury accomodations and you should be prepared for rain - even in the non-rainy season. So long as you are fine with that you should look into the following places: Monteverde (cloud forest: hiking, zip-line tours, nature walks, butterfly farm etc); Arenal (active volcano: hotsprings, horseback riding, rafting, waterfalls. Tabacon resort is very nice); Guanacaste (Pacific coast; beautiful landscape, sunshine, beaches, scuba diving); Manuel Antonio (south-pacific: also beautiful beaches, weather and nature). Try to stay clear of San Jose (not too much there), but you can use it as a springboard for white-water rafting trips nearby or if you want to explore the Caribbean side of the country.

I went to Costa Rica in May last year and it was a great vacation. We stayed on the pacific side at Barcelo Playa Longasta which is all inclusive. You could either do activities during the day or sit on the beach. We used Liberty Travel for our reservations.

I am going on my honeymoon to Costa Rica! We booked through tico travel. We did a lot of research on the area and decided it was exactly what we were looking for - adventure!
If you have any questions, feel free to FM me!
