Wedding "Jobs" for Close Friends

Hi everyone. I was wondering is anyone had suggestions on wedding "jobs" to give to close friends that I would have loved to have as bridesmaids if only I didn't have to worry about the numbers getting out of hand.

I want them to do something special at my Catholic ceremony, which is being held at my reception location (not a church or temple). I already have a cousin and one friend doing a reading, and another cousin singing. I may have our young cousins handing out the rose petals to throw as we end the ceremony.

Will there be a communion at the ceremony? If so they can bring up the gifts.

I'm hanging in! I'm just praying for the weather now. Now I'm trying to work out the time schedule of where everyone has to be, what time are the limos, etc. Make sure you work that our right away.

Hope this helps.

This is not part of the ceremony but it is special and important (at least I thought so), my cousin asked me to arrive at the church early to make sure the flowers, candles and pew bows were set up, the guys remembered what they were supposed to do, the photographer knew who the grooms mother was etc. I was also instructed to sneak a call into my Uncle to let him know the Groom had arrived. Things went off without a hitch.
Hope this helps.

If you're making ceremony programs for your guests to read and follow at the wedding service, then you could have someone attend the front door to greet guests and hand the programs out.

Hi, Gina,

I have the same problem; so many people want to be in the wedding party, but I can't let it get out of control.

We aren't having a full mass, so no communion. I actually hadn't thought about programs yet, but that seems to be a way to get more people involved.

Thanks for all your ideas!

I haven't thought much about it yet, but I may just keep them loose in a couple of baskets and have people grab a handful. I've seen it done both ways. Since both ways worked, I'll probably opt for leaving them loose -- less work on my part!

Feel free to ask me any questions :)

I never even thought of that-- I actually have never seen either way in person-- I just know that everyone has commented how beautiful it looks and I have heard the pictures can be amazing
Thanks for the info
