Bad News about FFIL-Updated 2/8/05
I've mentioned once or twice on the boards that my FFIL has Accute Myeloid Lukemia (he was diagnosed in September) Well on Thursday morning I got a phone call from FH crying saying that they had to stop the chemo on his father because he is too sick and the lukemia has spread to his lungs-so this means no bone marrow transplant (he was scheduled to have it the end of this month) and they are giving him about a month to live. Then yesterday morning FH got a phone call from his stepmother saying that the Dr. told her to call the family up. When I got to the hospital yesterday afternoon it was such a sad scene-his father who had looked great about a week ago (great meaning good for a man who had lost all his hair etc) looked like he was knocking on deaths door. It was terrible. Neither FH or I slept all night and FH has to take three tests today that his job depends on (if he fails the first one he loses his job  ) So needless to say I'm a nervous wreck now because he just left to go take the tests and I'm praying that his father can hang on at least until he gets out of the tests this afternoon. I'm sorry to spread such depressing news but I just needed to get this off my chest.
ETA 2/8/05 I have some sad news to pass along. Jon's father passed away yesterday morning. I just wanted to thank you all again for your kind thoughts and prayers. We are trying to take comfort in the fact that he is no longer in pain and has moved on to a better place. We have a guardian angel.

I am so sorry to hear what you're going through. They had to stop chemo for my FFIL as well and it is only a matter of time. I will say a prayer for you all and anytime you need to talk, let me know. Keep us posted.

So sorry to hear of this sad news. My Grandfather had lung cancer adn they had to stop the chemo...I pray your FFIL is not in pain, and tht DH can focus on his tests..I know you know but, want to say it, if you need to "talk" we're here...
