At what point would you finally decide to quit your job?
What are some things that would cause you to resign? How can you tell when enough is enough?
(side bar: Last night, I actually dreamt that I was at work. There weren't ANY people in the dream...just me doing some of the more mundane aspects of my job.)
there are MANY other things going on (I am underpaid, WAY WAY WAY overworked- and I am basing that by the standard set BY my company)

Then if I were you I'd put my resume out there. You don't sound like you're happy and life's too short to be unhappy in your job - espcially when it's what you spend the majority of your time doing.
Send it out - it doesn't hurt to see what happens! Good luck!!

Re: At what point would you finally decide to quit your job?
i did it Wednesday, I did it because my boss doesn't take her medication everyday and I can't deal with the mood swings. One day she is yelling one day she is my best friend. I know very well that your boss is not your best friend or your friend at all for that matter but I can't deal with the constant walking on egg shells nonsense.
I told her straight out that I couldn't handle her anymore. I think it just takes being pushed to that point where you feel you are getting zero respect and you have to stand up for yourself. She HAS to be right in every situation and flat out lied to me and the attorney on Wednesday. Put words in my mouth that I never even thought of and wouldn't listen to me at all.

Re: At what point would you finally decide to quit your job?
i would only resign if i was worried about getting caught up in something illegal and/or if i felt my health was being compromised.
i would strongly suggest you not quit and simply start looking for another job. divorce yourself emotionally from your current position (don't let ANYTHING bother you - someone pisses you off? LAUGH.) it is much easier to find a job when you currently have one. focus on bigger and better and leave the crap behind!
good luck!

Re: At what point would you finally decide to quit your job?
When I'm unhappy or stressed less than I'm happy and relaxed. Not that work should be fun, and a certain amount of drudgery and stress is to be expected, but when it really brings you down, it's not normal.
