I'm curious to know how much everyone's FH is doing. Mine is involved in every decision concerning the wedding down to the BM dresses. The only thing he didn't want to help pick was my gown. I'm not allowed to do anything without him. He's to freaking cute sometimes. He's actually the one who picked out the BM dresses.

Same over here! We did this together.

Re: How involved is FH with wedding planning???

Oh, FH doesn't like to do too much research. He is fine with looking at 3 places and making a decision. So I do have to nudge him sometimes to continue.

FH actually got ahead of himself with the planning. I thought we agreed on the groomsmen tuxedos. But on the day that he was supposed to go in to get measured I couldn't go. So now he won't tell me which suit he picked out for himself (I just know that it's ivory and there's 3 choices he liked). But I don't mind that because it keeps me in suspense. What does bothers me is that he decided to change the color of the groomsmen vest! Now, I have to wait until I go back to NY to see if the color he chose matches the BM dresses. MEN!!

The only things he was not involved in were my gown and the BMs gowns, other than that, he has been involved every step of the way, which I love!

Ditto for me and for my FH. He's been really Great!

Re: How involved is FH with wedding planning???

my FH makes a lot of decisions with me. He knows a lot about weddings and gives my good ideas (he's a videographer) sometimes it's annoying how involved he gets. But most of the time it's fun.
soemtimes I joke that he should wear the white dress that day.
He brings my Brides magazines in for bathroom reading!!

Re: How involved is FH with wedding planning???

My FH is very interested in most of the planning. I also do most of the research and he helps with the final decision. I feel this will make the wedding a true expression of the two of us.

Re: How involved is FH with wedding planning???

Honestly....I do everything and he complains later!.... It really gets me upset. The idea of my perfect wedding involved an island somewhere with crisp clear water and sounds of the ocean and maybe a total of $600!

He wanted to have it here due to family issues which is acceptable. So when we started planning I really wanted him to take a more active roll because I really thought that wedding planning was just not something I was really into. Later I realized I may not be fully into the wedding planning but I was loving party planning and I found you guys to help me through the rest. So I really tried to involve him at first but everything just always turned into a fight! I was always just crying trying to get him to do anything. So I just adjusted myself and started doing everything and notifying him later of costs which he didn't seem to mind. Well so I thought ( he wasn't paying attention apparently). Now as the time grows near all we do is fight about anything wedding about how I am spending X for flowers and I needed a band and this and that....I know it comes from 3 things-1-he is from Maryland and I am lead to believe they don't do weddings like us (bands, STDs, etc) 2-He doesn't remember his friends weddings...He always say so and so didn't have this and he lived, only to be talking to so and so later and them saying they did and 3-well yes it is an expensive thing!

But it always gets me down and it affects everything! That is the only reason we don't have a honeymoon picked yet! AH! I really can't wait until this wedding is over really!

Sorry wrong thread at the wrong time! We were supposed to have a discussion tonight about our Honeymoon but he came home in a slight mood so I differed! Our 2 year (dating) anniversary is this weekend and he is going away next week so there will be no other time to discuss...

FH has been involved with everything ....except for my gown of course... but I even got his input on the BM dresses..

He has been wonderful, and wants to be included.

Not really so much. I brought him in to see to see the reception hall before I signed the contract. He's also had some opinions on the menu and the music, but otherwise, he's left most of it up to me.

Same thing with me..we just moved into a house that is a dump so he's been focused on fixing it up-which is nice that he is into that...but he came with me to book the catering hall and DJ, that's about it

Mine is not very involved. He helps with certain things but most he just says it is my day and for me, not him.

Re: How involved is FH with wedding planning???

I've done all of the research myself, but he has gone with me to every appointment to look at halls, flowers, etc. He has been more helpful and cooperative then I thought he would, but if I really want something, he doesn't say a word and never complains. I almost wanna say that it doesn't matter to him, but he knows I'll be happy with my decisions and that'll make life easier for him

He has been pretty involved and opinionated too!!! lol The only things he was not involved in were- my dress ( I don't want him to see it until I walk down the aisle), BM dresses (I let them pick it out) and flowers (He had no clue what any flower was aside from a rose, LOL)

Re: How involved is FH with wedding planning???

FH is involved in a lot of decisions-when he starts to disagree with me on something I wish he didn't want to be as involved but it is nice that he wants to be involved 98% of the time. Besides I can be a real brat if I don't get my way!!
