South Beach for Bachelor Party?
So, FH's friends want to take him to South Beach for a weekend for his bachelor party. I totally trust FH, but I think this is excessive and I know I'll be upset the whole time he's gone.
The first guy in FH's group of friends got married this past September and they all went to Vegas for 6 days. FH agreed that this was way too long and assured me that they did this because he was the first one, and his bach. party would be much more tame.
I already told FH that I didn't like this idea at all. So he told his friends and now they're trying to come up with another destination. I know they're going to pick something equally crazy. Now I'm wondering, should I just let it go and tell him to go to SoBe for 2 nights? This whole thing is causing me angst. I feel like I'll be upset either way because I know FH is excited that his friends are planning something so elaborate for him.

Thats a tough thing..I personally hate bachelor parties and some of the guys on here questioned me when I said they should be banned...that my opinion. I hate them...some guys take it too far!

I would feel the same way as you do. I've heard too many horror stories of things getting out of control in these situations. Perhaps as the above poster mentioned they can do something closer to home? Atlantic City or even Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun? Does he play golf? Maybe they can all play golf during the day (depending on the time of year of course) and then go out later that night?

I know how you feel and in all honesty I would feel the same way. But like you said you trust him. His friends are going all out and he is really excited about it - but at the same time you have made it clear how you feel and that is very important.
I say let him go and have a good time. Yes some bachelor parties do get out of hand and it is a little exsessive but the same things that happen in south beach can happen at atlantic city or a night on the town.
What about a joint bachelor and bachelorette party in southbeach?? maybe that way you would feel more comfortable and he dosent have to ruin his friends plans? some nights you do your thing and he does his - other nights you go out together in a big group.

honestly I would be concerned also. It's south beach you know but at the same time If you trust him, everything should be fine.

I agree with this.
My FH's Bachelor Party is in Vegas for 4 days, 3 nights and he has a whole group going with him. (about 15 to 20). And I have no problems with it. I absolutely trust him and he knows how I feel about these kind of parties.( I think you should honestly talk to him about it so that he knows where you stand on this.) I couldn't agree more with Soon2bmsZ because I think the party location is not the issue at hand and what can happen in one place can happen at another. And while he's away, if you feel you will be pondering what they are doing...which you shouldn't..you will only be having mortifying thoughts..and who needs that when planning a wedding...I suggest you plan for yours around that time or be busy with all the planning for the wedding. You know how we have tons of last minute things to do.  This is the best time to do this. JMO

A coworker of mine's fiance went to South Beach for his bachelor party.....roses were sent to the office during it...hmmmm...great party place but yeah more than a long weekend seems too much to me.

We're probably ALL going to South Beach for a weekend before the wedding. Since all our cousins are in the BP it'll sure be fun!!! Why can't you go with them and stay at a different hotel or something? That way EVERYONE will have a great tan wedding day!

This is just my opinion....
I went to South Beach for mine from a Friday -Sunday and the guys went to Vegas for 4 nights...it really wasn't bad at all.
I understand its hard, but if you truly trust him and know him to not be the type of guy you need to worry about, it will be ok. He even called me every morning and evening.
I hope it works out for you either way.

Thanks everyone for all of your advice and support. I'm not thrilled about it, but I think I'll let him go. I'm going to make sure its only Fri-Sun though...I don't think I can handle more than 2 nights!!!
