Help! Need Answer QUICK!!! (bank check)
is a bank check different than a personal check????
i sent out a personal check to the woman selling me the dog.. now looking back at her email it said to send a bank check... is there a difference???

Yes, a bank check is issued from the bank, they take the money out of your account, something like that

A personal check can bounce...a bank check is drawn up at the bank.

It's kinda like a certified check I think ... but I think it's drawn off the BANK (you give them the $$ to cut the check)

Do you think its THAT big of a deal? i feel bad now. I sent her an email explainging that i didnt realize she wanted a bank check and that i sent out a personal one, but i sent it priority so she can def cash it before Sunday (when she flies the dog to me) so she knows its valid..... if you were in her place would that be ok? im so nervous b/c i really want my doggy

I think it would take a few days longer. Even when you deposit a check, my bank takes a few days to clear.

no...she wil most likly hold the check until it clears... if its out of state where it sent, it will take 3-5 business days to clear
if it in state check where she deposits, it should clear in 1-2 business days..
if you are lucky and she banks with the same company you do, it will clear same day (if she went to cash it)

She might be able to call your bank as a merchant wishing to verify funds.
I'm not sure if this is still done, when I worked in retail, we did it all the time.

Nah..mistakes happens..just give her a call and tell her in advance....you will get your dog

Why don't you void your personal check you sent her and go to the bank and get a bank check and send that out priority. That will get to her faster and already be cleared. Good luck!
