Help - Has anoyone experienced bleeding after a pap?

I'm 12.5 weeks - we heard and saw a strong heartbeat this monring and now I'm bleeding (she did a pap). I'm freaking out - anyone know anything abou this?

I have heard this could happen. I would call the doctor just to make sure .

Yes, it happened to me at my first visit (7wks3days). I actually bled a pretty decent amount. I saw it on the thing that widens you (forget the name) and when she did the internal afterwards she had blood on her glove (sorry if TMI).

She kept reassuring me it was completely normal, my cervix was just sensitive. I bled a little that day and had a little brown spotting for like another day or two and then it went away.

Did it happen right away (at drs office) or afterwards? I'm sure it's nothing but I would call your drs office just to put your mind at ease

I'm not sure when it happened, but I think it was pretty much right away. I didn't go to the bathroom until a few hours after and that's when I saw a very decent amount of brown blood. It seems to have stopped. She said it might happend and that it's normal. Still - very disconcerting.

I know it's scary but try not to worry too much. I'm sure everything is fine

yes, I bled after some exams too...

I also had some bleeding during my early pregnancy pap smear. Not fun, but apparently not a problem since I'm now 32 weeks along!

My gyno actually told me after I had a pap (at 5 weeks) that I would most likely bleed and not to worry, because it was normal. I would still call to double check, but I'm sure it's okay

Yes I am pretty sure its commong.
I am going to try my best to refuse one because I had one in Sept and just don't feel like I need to have them poking around in there.
Just relax I am sure all is fine. If you're worried give the doc a call.

Thanks ladies - it seems to have stopped, so I am just assuming/preying that it was due to the pap. We saw and heard the heartbeat yesterday - going strong at 153 beats/minute. I'm trying to focus on that!
