I am not normally good at trying new and strange things but I gave them a try and they truly were YUMMY! The person told me she baked hers in the oven- the recipes I found on line say to microwave. I would probably microwave the bacon in the first step, but after wrapping the dates, I would bake them in the oven instead of microwaving them for the additional two minutes.
"Smoky, salty bacon enrobes a sweet, earthy date for a flavor combination that is irresistible. Serve hot from the microwave."
Bacon-Wrapped Dates
12 slices bacon 24 pitted dates
Cut each bacon slice in half crosswise. Place bacon on paper toweling on a microwave-safe plate; cover with another paper towel. Microwave on high 4 minutes.
Roll up each date in a piece of bacon, place bacon-wrapped dates on clean toweling on microwave-safe plate; cover with another paper towel. Microwave on high 2 minutes, until bacon is crisp. Makes 24 appetizers.

I also heard those are great. Did you ever try scallops rolled in bacon and then coated with sesame seeds and baked? Really good. My family also likes chicken livers wrapped in bacon. Darn cholesterol though..can't have these goodies anymore without a major guilt trip.

I agree! I'm usually good about trying new things too but I'm not sure I could do this one. Thanks for posting though
