For those of you doing donation as favor?
So FH and I are leaning on doing a donation for our favor. I am a physician assistant student right now (graduate in August before the wedding), and I took care of a patient that had a brain injury. His family ended up donating his organs, he saved and helped over 40 people! So I was thinking of making a donation to the New York Organ Donation Program.
So for those of you doing donations... did you make a sign in the lobby? Small pieces on paper on the table? Or a small favor (candy) with a note?

Re: For those of you doing donation as favor?
We're in the process of making a pretty scroll that matches our flowers, which will go in the middle of everyone's plate. (We're not doing menus). Also, We are framing the thank-you letter from the chairty, and putting it out in the "crystal room" (a pretty room with a huge fireplace and couches). The charity is also providing very nice postcard size cards that give a description of the charity. I'm either going to put one of those on each table, or put them out by the framed letter- not sure yet.

Re: For those of you doing donation as favor?
I work at a charity that has a program in which we give pre-printed cards, but only for one specific area (i work at a Hosp. that people can give to many differnt areas)
I think making a donation is a nice gesture and one reason people do it is to put that money towards somethinng useful and meaningful, so i wouldn't go and spend a lot of money to let people know you are donating. i think it defeats the purpose.
a nice letter and brochure when people come in seems like plenty to me. if you are going to do a standard favor anyway, then i woudl just attach a little note to it.
but check in with the charity to see what they are willing to provide you.

That's what we're going to do also.
