I am a long island girl so for me it was the pike (hempstead Tpke) then it became DPA (deer park Ave) I am still a youngster  so my friends ALWAYS made fun of me for listening to and blasting Stevie B greatest hits. Until I saw this one kid I use to work with (who was younger then me) driving down "the pike" blasting stevie B SPRING LOVE...... I was like NICE I had it blasting too. AHHH the memories.

I have a funny story about Freestyle...
I use to babysit (we are talking when I was like 14) for this girl Michele she use to live 2 doors down from me and babysat me when I was a baby.....
Her new boyfriend Mike (they are now married and they are how I met my husband Mike) was really HOT but was 8 years older then me. He use to tell me stories about Howard Beach and Blah Blah.... One weekend I went with my friend Jenn to Howard Beach to stay with her Grandma. We had this big fight and I called my mom crying and she said Well I know nothing about Queens so I can't get you. So what do I do. I remember Mike knows Howard Beach I call him up. He's like ok Ill come get you. Meet me at the KFC on Cross bay BLVD. So he came and got me. He relived the days of his Howard Beach days drove me around showing me where all the mafia lived. Then we started talking on the way home and I said how I loved Freestyle and people always made fun of me he goes "ya Freestyle" and laughed he goes" whats ure version of Freestyle" I go I have a tape... wanna hear. Hes like sure pops in the tape and hes like holy crap this is awesome THIS IS REAL FREESTYLE. Well we then went to pick up Michele's engagment ring and I babysat while he popped the question. Then when it was time to go home the tape got stuck in the car (really he thought it was so good he wanted to make a copy) Ever since that night Mike and I have become like Brother and Sister. When I was done babysitting he would drive me home and We would sit in the car for no joke 45mins- an hour just talking. Those where the good ol' days. I got my Diamond girl dance with mike at the wedding.

I absolutely love that song!! Judy Torres was my girl. Hers was probably the first C.D. I ever bought. I loved Coro, Stevie B (he always had real pretty songs), Cynthia etc...
DH has no idea what freestyle is either. But he bought me a freestyle C.D. online for Christmas. I am going to have to introduce him to that music.

I LOVE anything Freestyle. I threw my now husband a Freestle Party for his "30th Birthday". Everyone had to get dressed and where there hair like they did in the early '90's. It was great. He even wore a pair of the old Z-Cavaricci's. The DJ played freestyle music all night.
Does anyone know of any clubs that have freetsyle night?

I have to admit, although I knew George Lamond (well, the ONE song) I had NO IDEA it was considered freestyle, or honestly what the heck freestyle is either.

LMAO, for those who want somewhat of a clear definition of freestyle, I will try my best to explain it in the best possible way:
Most of this music was most popular in the very late 80's some going into very, very early 90's. I guess to some, this music was considered "Guido/Guidette" music, Lmao--
Freestyle I guess you can say was that generation/type of music all put into that one category, all had a somewhat of a techno beat, most of these songs had to do w/ some sort of love, No Hate, No Killings, No Gangs.....it was just all good, fun, great-to-dance and sing-to Music.
Hope that clears it up.......

Posh @ the Garden City Hotel, no freestyle "night" as far as I know but the DJs usually throw some in at all the clubs I've been to on the island and NYC and I think I've hit them all!
and GiGi isn't really freestyle is it? I thought it was more Voice House or Techno than Freestyle. Maybe I'm wrong.
