My meeting with Escapade DJ's
Escapade is a great vendor so far! I told him he should sing up on LIW and he showed me how he had Ron's number on his desk! LOL He's going to be at the great Bridal expo on 1/22 at the marriot. I copied and pasted the question form I made to keep track of and compare DJ's.

# of Weddings per day: 3 weddings with 4 teams – each team does only one event per day

How will you get people out of their seats and dancing? Judging the crowd, keeping them interested, changing the music
What is your pricing scheme?
DJ only with basic light show - $700
DJ & MC with Basic light show $900
Most popular light show 10ft truss, automatically moves to the beat $250
10ft intelligent light show $450 13ft $495 (pre programmed)
25ft intelligent light show w/technician $750
How many hours are included?
1 hour cocktail hour 4 hour reception
What is the cost for additional time?
Overtime standard charge $250 per hour
Can negotiate day of.
When are deposits due? $50 to hold date, balance day of event, cash or cashier’s check 1 hour into event
Who will be the DJ?
If one man show, Dan will DJ and MC, if 2 man show, Dan will MC, other DJ (Dan books himself out first before going to his other teams)
What if he is sick? There is always one team who is not working on a particular day, so the 4th team can take over if needed. They will always let you know. Dan will show up even if he is too sick to MC
Do we need an MC? What is the role of the MC? MC adds a focal point, gets people’s attention
Do you have backup equipment? 4th team not in use, so can always backup
What additional options do you offer (for cocktail hour, dinner hour, etc) and what is the cost? Can add dancers, Sinatra singer, etc
Are you familiar with the set up of North Ritz Club? 4-5 parties
Do you have a video we can watch and or references? Party shown was a little flat. He didn't have a better video on him. It wasn't his fault. The people were tense and boring! LOL
Notes: Dan has many years of experience in the business, with prevous experience subcontracting to other DJ’s. He seemed like a very nice guy, very honest and nice, but sold himself short a little bit. We really liked his personality, and he said customer service is his biggest concern. He seemed very accessable and easy to talk to, Said he'd give his home and cell # to call 24 hours a day!
