Spinoff: How long do you go between buying a new mattress?

Location: Huntington Townehouse	Spinoff: How long do you go between buying a new mattress? we have had ours over 9 yrs and think we def. need one. Just curious what everyone else thinks should be the time to change mattress

I think it depends on many factors...(How much you use it...The quality of the mattress to start with...) I had a mattress from 1989 until 2000...(A semi-cheapie twin one...) In 2000 I bought myself a good mattress--which is now not being used. Oh well... Hopefully the one that DH and I bought will last a LONG time.
