photographer stress!!!

I am having so much trouble finding a good photgrapher for a good price! I am meeting with silverfox, proline and duval this weekend--I don't know anything about them, but hopefully one will be it! Silverfox's pricing plan looked very confusing-- does anyone know if they are reasonable? I met with perceptions-- their work was great, but out of my price range oh well... any input?

Re: photographer stress!!!

Do searches of vendors not on this site. Try regular google type searches, I will be interviewing photographers in the coming month and I only found a few I liked that are vendors on here.
Don't be afaid to negociate either. And if you are willing to make your own albums that can save money.

Lauren:

I am going to be meeting with Silverfox in a few weeks or so as well. It doesn't seem to confusing - it seems that you can pick and choose what you want. However, based on other packages, it doesn't look like a good deal.

Based on what I want (eng shoot, all proofs, all images (whether film or digital) on a CD, 2 parent books and 1 regular book) I'd be over 2500 hundred.... doesn't seem like such a great deal.

I'm hoping to get something under 2000 for what I described. I think I may just make my own album or wait till after I see the pics to get it done...

Let me know how Silverfox goes tho, I am curious!

Re: photographer stress!!!

There are some photographers out there where you don't have to order albums right away so it keeps the initial cost down. I believe that 12th Night and perhaps Silverfox also has that option.

Do a search here on the photographers you are interested in and see what type of reviews they have been given.

Good luck. Choosing the Photographer was one of the hardest decisions, but you should be happy with your choice because these pictures will last a lifetime.

Re: photographer stress!!!

I agree that findinga photgrapher was a miserable experience! I saw too many and had pros and cons about each. I ended up with a vendor that cost more than I was intending to spend but I have peace of mind and everything that was important to me.

Good luck!

Re: photographer stress!!!

I had no problem with finding a photographer...FBIL used ADA Studios & we absolutely loved their work & the quality of the pictures...Before I was even engaged, I swore I would use them..Sure enough, once we booked the hall, we met with John & booked them...I know I am getting quality work & getting what I want for the right $$

U will go crazy...bc we are now! We did that ALL today! Must have been to 4 places in one day! Its MAD expensive, but i look at it as though they will last me a lifetime! So i am going all out!!!
You can save lots of money by just using photographers who use film, but if you want creativity use someone who either has digital or both!
