Hey guys are any of you doing STD and if so can you guys post some? I need some good ideas!

Im thinking of making them myself and adding a cute little poem along the lies of "save a sick day for the future mr and mrs...so you can be witness to their I do kisses"

since my wedding is on a friday

what do you think?

the link won't let me post the pic, but we are using www.polkadotdesign.com. go to wedding/save the dates. we are using the one with the ribbon tied around the finger. its very pretty.

Since my wedding is at holiday time, i'm going to make magnets and send them out next december

Something like

"as you light your candles or trim the tree
remeber that next year you'll be celebrating with us
as we start our family"

or something!

becuase we're getting married during hanukkah and 9 days before xmas!

I think you are supposed to send out STDs one year in advance so OOT guests have time to plan!

Here's a pic of our STD. I plan on sending them out this August. I got them from favorlady. I will send them with a card that says:

Times are busy calendars are full Chris and Amy want you to know they are planning their wedding for July 29, 2006. Please put this magnet on your fridge to remind you when the big day is!!

Here are ours...I love them! They are magnets that we had done through pygraphics.com
You just send them pics of you and FH from grade school and they turn you into a bride & groom!!

I made cards to go with them...I used photo corners to stick the magnets on the inside of the card and I used MS Word to design the cards. The magnets were a little expensive but I love them!!

(PS - the poem on the back is a little fuzzy but it says "We sat side by side in the morning light and looked out at the future together.")

I will probably be sending them out next month!! (In true Vicky fashion they are all stuffed, addressed & stamped and just waiting to go out!)

I'm going back and forth on them- we have OOT guests, and also its kind of a popular time of year for vacations.
But- most people already know the date because we're telling them.
AND not only do you have to buy whatever you use for the STD's but ALSO the postage.
So we were thinking maybe not send them to everyone, but only those we really don't talk to much.
I don't know. We'll figure it out.
OH! Does anyone know how far in advance they should be sent?
