OMG! How annoying are the Kirstie Alley Jenny Craig commercials?
Do the Jenny Craig people really think overweight folks are gonna start calling in droves as Kirstie calls them fat and chubby???

Definitely. I don't know how they can think these negative ads will work. Next they'll have male models saying, "I'd date you if only you were thinner. Call jenny craig!"

I found the commercial to be insulting and degrading. I don't think that this or starring in a series called "Fat Actress" is going to boost her career. I loved her on Cheers, but she has gone crazy. I guess a nasty divorce and losing your Pier One endorsement deal to one of the Queer Eye guys is enough to put you over the edge.

I've never liked her, but this commercial takes the cake! I've seen it at least 3 times today, and I'm ready to punch the TV every time she looks at me and goes, "you're chubby too!"

Okay.. I have to say.. I think they are funny..
Being a "fat" person myself, I'm not offended in the least.
She's making fun of our PC attitudes in this country.. I'm mean saying some is fat is considered mean or teasing, but saying their "over weight" is not??
It doesn't matter what words you use if you understand the context they are spoken in.
Just my opinion...
P.S. I do agree her voice is a bit annoying...lol

Also, as someone who has struggled with an eating disorder all her life, I don't think that this commercial is good for those with a similar condition. I know it sounds crazy, but having her look out from the television saying "Hey, you're chubby too." is not going to help people who already hav a skewed body image.

if not, you can ignore the whole thing.

I looked at it from this point of view:
How sad for her that this is what she's brought herself to. And that new show she's doing, JT told me that they will let her shoot another episode only if she loses five pounds. The deal is, if she's wants 1 episode, lose five pounds, want 2 episodes, lose another five, etc. I feel really sorry for her.
