you can take anytime, but i sugg if you can get it over with asap. It's just one last thing you dont have to worry about closer to the wedding.

I called the Diocese of Rockville Centre & was told that Pre-Cana should be done 6 months prior to wedding date...My church is sending the information out to me in a week or two...We are hoping to take it this spring

Pre cana is only necessary if you are getting married in a church.

We met with the priest a few months ago and he told us we should do it as soon as possible to get it out of the way. He also said when the new information/schedule came in it would be mailed to us.
GRRR - I just called to check up and the receptionist at the church was like "he told you it would be mailed to you?? Usually you come pick it up"...had I known that I would have picked it up already lol
So I guess to answer your question...soon!

I met with my priest back in October, and he told me to wait until the end of '05 - they prefer it to be within 6 months of the wedding. It's 3 classes on Sunday evenings - at least at my church.

With our crazy schedules...we are getting it over with starting next thursday! The RVC Dioceses doesnt care when u do it...as long as you do! You might as well get it over with...its one less thing to worry about!!

Is anyone in the RVC diocese doing Pre-Cana at a couple's home? I heard that this form of Pre-Cana is excellent.
Basically...a married couple from the parish invites engaged couples into their home and they talk about married life as opposed to a priest telling you what married life is like.

we dont have to do pre cana if its at the hall? how can we find a priest to marry us if its not in the church? having trouble with finding one. im greek orthodox but my fiance is roman catholic. we dont care who we have marry us, we just cant find one that do it outside of church. help! thanks!
