I got my Jean M invite samples yesterday
I though the quality of the paper and thermography was great. Much better than I imagined.
The thing that worries me, is that all of the ribbon samples were unraveling at the ends...I wonder if the real invites would do this or if the ends are finished on the finished product.
Does anyone know?

I received my "color kit" of paper & ribbon the other day from Jean M. My ribbon samples weren't frayed but that is definitely a good question!

I ordered my invites from Jean M. I am getting the Gwenn invite but I've decided too do my own ribbons. To order the same invite with ribbon would have cost over $150 more. They also don't have baby blue which is my color. I called them and chose a different layout leaving enough space to put my own ribbon.
I spent more than I wanted to on invites but not as much as many other companies out there. I did get something I liked.

I'll post when they come in. I should get a proof in a few weeks.

I'm not familiar with Jean M but it seems that it would be sound practice to send you a practice that is the best representation of their product. It's a sign to me that:
1. They did not stop long enough to examine that product
2. There is a likelihood that some, not all, but some will look like the one you received. It is after all a sample.
It may be cheaper to buy your own ribbons overall and if you were happy with the rest of their product you may just want to get the ribbons seperately.

Hmmm. I have not yet received my sample package but if my ends are also frayed, I'll be concerned.
Maybe clip the ends? That is better than having to tie all of them yourself if you buy ribbon separately.

Didn't now you could order Jean M invites w/o the ribbon. I am considering Jean but am not sure I want to tie them all myself - 2 sets of ribbons per invite.
I think I have too many DIY projects already - programs with ribbons, petal cones, cry packs, menus & lotto favors. I was going to do kissing bells with personalized ribbon but decided not to bother (or maybe just buy the bells with toasting cards already attached - www.wrapwithus.com)

I know what you mean - So far the only DIY project I am doing is my STD's and that's been a pain in the butt!!

Got my Jean M color kit and my ribbons are frayed too
I assume since someone hand assembles the invites that the ends must be trimmed? In the design the ends are cut at an angle (which may prevent the unraveling?)
Can I just say I LOVE LOVE LOVE the grape cards with platinum ink I think I found our invites. Gotta run it by FI first though.
