06 Brides-Pre-Cana
Just wondering if anyone has taken Pre-Cana?? If not, when do you plan on taking it?? Where are you going to be taking it? My MOH is getting married 7/2/06 & she was told it must be done 6 months prior to wedding date!

I'm getting married at St. Dominic's in Oyster Bay, and they were pretty specific about when to take it. While I could take it at any time, they prefer that I take it closer to the wedding. I think it is 3 Sunday evenings in a row - if I remember correctly.
If your MOH is getting married in a church, they should offer it there. She could always call the Diocese of Rockville Centre (assuming she's in Nassau/Suffolk) and see if they might be able to direct her.

guess it depends on your church...I was thankful that my church let us get it done with in Nov 04......They just keep all our paperwork from pre-cana in a file........Act our precana class was alot fun we had ours in 2 married couples homes......My church is ST Frances De chantel in wantagh

I think it depends on the church...our church requires you to take it six months prior...all churches I believe have different requirements and time lines...I would definately call them and find out...

I just got off the phone with the Dic. of Rockville Centre & the woman told me that you should have it done 6 months prior bc some people wait until the last minute & they do not have dates open...She is sending me all the paperwork today so we can pick our dates...

That is actually my church but I didn't want to get married there for personal reasons...We are getting married at St. James in Seaford

Really!!! Yea they have issues with calling back people, when they dont call me back after a few days i just go down there & wait to talk to dec bob.

Im doing Pre cana come sept. I was already called with the classes and when they were given. With FH being a cop, I have to choose wisely or he wont be there!!!!
I figured that would be a good time, Summer is over and its on Sundays for an hr or so.

I know what you mean...FH travels with his job, so I must choose the off season..They told me they still have dates open for the spring, so that is where we will be going
