Am I crazy??? Driving to FL at 21 weeks?

Hi,

My DH's grandmother just found out she has lung cancer. We want to go to FL to see her. My inlaws are all going over Winter Break. We want to go with them. They are driving, we were going to fly. However, when we checked airfares, JETBLUE wants $1,000 roundtrip. I think that is insane to go to FL. So we have decided to drive with the inlaws one way and fly home for $79.00 a person. Much better than $1,000. However, they are driving straight through of course with bathroom breaks and to stretch our legs, etc. But no staying overnight...

Am I crazy for doing this? Once again I will be 21 weeks. Please give me your honest opinions, I am scared, I will live to regret this...........

I can't see it as a problem. Just bring some food and lots of drinks. Stop every few hours to stretch and you should be fine! I know at 21 weeks - I was pretty much not much different than 13/14 weeks. sp:)

I dont think it would be a problem either just make sure to drink and stretch and eat well.

I drove to NY from NC when I was 32 weeks. It was ok except I hurt my tailbone area somehow from the drive and it still hurts sometimes today. Just make sure you're comfortable in the car.

bring LOTS of entertainment...reading, ipod/walkman....and lots of water and snacks. And a Pillow so you're not sleeping with your head against the window drooling. Have a safe trip!!

I'm making the drive to FL for good on January 22nd... no more NY for me. I'll be living in my new home on the 24th!

Right now i'm 25 1/2 weeks and by the time I leave i'll be 27 weeks preggo. You should be fine as long as you stretch your legs and take bathroom breaks. Rocky Mnt. NC is the 1/2 way mark to FL (just so you know ).

Also, you may want to check out cheaptickets.com.. they have the best prices to Florida. I've been flying back and forth to FL a lot lately and they have the best deals.

I did check cheaptickets. The lowest fare I could find was almost $800... That is still to high with a baby on the way!

I'm so sorry to hear.
I just flew at 19 weeks and it wasen't that bad at all from Florida to Philly with a long layover in Atlanta and in about 10 weeks I'm driving up from Florida to philly so I'm pray your drive is an enjoyable one.

Have you looked at www.florida.com

They have real good rates to florida. Our families use them all the time especially for last minute. Good Luck! I wish we could use Florida.com but unfortuntly it only workes for people traveling to Florida not leaving it.
