Re: car seat
We have had this car seat for over a year now and its still great. It soo easy for me to take in and out of the car ( we switch cars) by myself which I could never do with my infant one!
Its the evenflo Triumph I got it in the same "rockefeller" pattern.
When he was smaller we used it in the first postition (pic #1) and now that hes almost 2 he is in the second position. ( pic #2) Its still really roomy and comfy for him!! I hate when they looks squished.

Re: car seat
The babies usually double their birthweight by 6 months. You probably have a few more months than you think.

Re: car seat
You want to consider the height maximums as well as the weight. My 3 month old is 12.5 pounds but is almost 25 inches...she will reach the 26 inch max for my Graco snug ride in no time. We have the Britax Marathon which will go up to 40 lbs as the next step.

Re: car seat...update
Looks like I am going to need that car seat sooner than I thought! But not because of weight, (he's almost 16 lbs though!) because of height ...at 8 weeks old he is 25 1/4 inches long since the Peg Perego I have only says to 26 inches! Thanks for the suggestions!

Re: car seat
I think the 2 top rated car seats are the Britax Roundabout and the Britax Marathon. I heard good recommendations on the Evenflo Triumph.

Re: car seat
Emily is out of her infant seat because of height too. The infant seat I have only goes to 26 inches and Emily is 4 and a half months and 26 and a half inches long. We bought the Britax roundabout. Emily seems okay in it. We just switched 2 days ago.

Re: car seat
Aidan is tall too, he was over the limit of the snugride by 4 months, we switched him to the Britax Marathon at that point. We like it

Re: car seat
Is there a carseat that will be good from Newborn into the 1st or 2nd year of their life? I'm so clueless!!! Should you get a "travelsystem" ??What is the best way to go economically.

The Marathon is good from 5 lbs to 65 lbs, must be rear facing up to 12 months. The only reason to get an infant seat for me anyway, was for ease of getting in and out of car and into stores etc. without taking baby out of seat. But if you want to use the Marathon earlier and purchase one seat you can.
