Re: Anyone have any decandent holiday treat recipes?

We had a recipe thread a while ago-- I posted a recipe for these AMAZING cookies..

I think DebMaher had started it-- I might have bookmakred.. let me see if I can bump.

Found it.. You told have to call them this- but it;s the title I use if I give a recipe at a bridal shower or something..

These are UNBELIEVABLE!! And there are even good if you roll them into balls, and store them in the freezer.. and eat it raw right out of the freezer-- it's like fudge.. YUM.

Better Than Sex Chocolate Cookies

2 pkg. (16 squares) semi-sweet baking chocolate, divided
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter (1/2 stick)
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
2 cups chopped nuts

Coarsely chop 8 squares of the chocolate- set aside.
Microwave remaining 8 squares in large bowl on high 1-2 minutes.

Halfway through, remove, stir chocolate and add butter- continue to melt all. Stir til mixture is melted and smooth. Stir in sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Stir in flour and baking powder. Stir in nuts and reserved chocolate. Chill for one hour.

Preheat oven to 350.

Drop dough by 1/4 cupfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 12-14 minutes- til cookies are puffed and feel set to the touch. Cool 1 minute before removing to wire rack to cool.

Makes 18 cookies
