Golem had his very first play date yesterday!!1
I'm so PROUD of my little guy!!!! One of Craig's students has been asking us for a while to bring Golem out so we can safely socilaize him with their dog - so we finally got around to it and went out there yesterday with Golem. She's a 5 year old female Rottie, and he LOVED HER!!! It was so cute!! When we got there - they had stairs going up to the house, and since we live in a ranch with no steps, at first he was like "what are these for?!" He got over it thogh, and once we were inside, he made himself right at home - had a drink of water, letting everyone pet him, he even gave thier kitty a kiss!! Then the big Girl came out - and at first, Golem was a little overwhelmed by her since she's used to playing with the other big Rotties! So they had to put her in the dog run for a bit until she realised that he was a baby and she couldn't play rough with him like she's used to with her other dog friends. He did the submission pee in front of her, and head bowed like to say "okay, this is your place, I got it!" :) But he was still really curious about this other doggie, so we let him check her out while she was behind the dog run fence - and he kept going over to her and sniffing, backing up a little, then going back again until he was able to sit in front of her and once he checked her out, then all he wanted to do was play with her! He trotted back adn forth along the fence as if to say "okay, when do you come out to play now?" We went inside then, and they took their dog inside on leash so they could let Golem check her out more - and he was so good!!!! He would go over to her, sniff, come back, and kept doing this until he was right in her face and then he just covered her with kisses! They were like, "Wow, she doesn't let ANY dog lick her like that!" After that, he was running around trying to play with her, he couldn't get enough of it :)
He slept like a LOG when we got home though!! He went from 11:00 to 5:30 without any nap, and in that time he had a 30 minute car ride, in a new house, met four new people, two cats, adn a dog, AND played the whole time we were there! He was so tired when we left that he just fell asleep as soon as we got back in the car, slept the whole way home, then once we were home, continued to sleep until 7! I'm so proud of my baby - he had a very exciting day and everyone was so impressed with our puppy! I feel like a bragging mommy right now :) We meant to bring the camera but forgot it at the last minute! I wish I had pictures, he was so good the whole time!!! But I'll be sure to take pics for his next play date and post those! Yay, my boy plays well with others!!!

OMG - he was the BEST! I'm sorry for bragging and all, but I was just so happy to see him play nice not only with another dog, but in a completely different environment with new people AND two cats on top of it! He was great - everyone loved him and he was even doing the commands we taught him when the other people told him to do it! They had friends over who wanted to see Golem too, since they have Rotties and are involved with shows. They were SO taken with our pup that after we showed them the breeder's website, they asked if we could print out pics for them of Golem's mom and dad! I'm still just so proud of my little guy that I just want to call everyone up and brag about how well he did on his first play date! This weekend was awesome too bc I had some friends over on Saturday, and that night there were eight of us all at the house at one point, being very loud :) and he just took it all in like it was any other day at home!

aww, thanks Shana! I'm still just beaming with pride at how well he behaved himself the other day - even the other people there said that Rotties Golem's age are usually not so well behaved and calm as he was! Craig is convinced that they wanted to take our puppy home with them bc they were so impressed with him! 
And speaking of mommies... how are YOU doing?
