Important question about "and guest" . . . (Sending out STDs)
On the flip side of people being insulted if they are invited WITHOUT a guest, do you think it might be insulting to invite someone WITH a guest that you knew was not dating anyone? I ask this because I do not want to make people feel bad by inviting them with a guest, yet you never know if someone has a friend or if they might be dating by the time the wedding rolls around. Any thoughts?

Re: Important question about "and guest" . . . (Sending out STDs)
For those single persons I wanted to invite to our wedding, I did include "and guest" on their invitation. I gave them the option to come alone, or bring a date.

Don't feel like you'll be insulting anyone-- Remember, it is customary to add "and guest" on an invitation, and people know that-- People know they have the option of coming single, as well... You won't be hurting anyone.

Re: Important question about "and guest" . . . (Sending out STDs)
I'm sending out my STD's this week. Even people that will be invited with a guest, i'm just adressing their STD's with their names alone.

I did the same thing. I think it would look silly to put & guest on a save the date - imo

Same here--if I knew for a fact that they'd been dating someone seriously, that person's name was included on the STD. Otherwise, I just addressed it to the person with their name only.

I agree - I would just send the STD to the single person's name - even if you're planning on inviting them with a guest. You're not asking a nameless guest to save the date, you're asking your friend to.

Same here too- only I put 2 names on the STD if the couple is engaged, otherwise I just put 1 name- no and guest.
