Two Fun Events for One Great Cause

The United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County Inc. (UCPN) is a not-for-profit health agency that services more than 1,800 children and adults with cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities. Throughout the year, the association holds fun events for families that help to raise funds to further their work. Two of the most popular events are taking place this month.



16th Annual Festival of Trees features a large selection of decorated holiday trees, gingerbread and chocolate houses on display and available for purchase. Ongoing children’s activities and entertainment takes place during weekend hours. Kids can make a candy cane reindeer, watercolor pictures, decorate their own hat and color-a-cookie. Photos with Santa are available for an additional fee. The exhibit runs Nov. 26 through Dec. 5 and is always open. There is no admission fee. Children’s weekend activities and entertainment 11am-6pm Nov. 26, 27 and 28 and Dec. 4 and 5. $18 covers all children’s activities and admission to the Long Island Children’s Museum and The Cradle of Aviation Museum on Dec. 4 and 5. Teddy Bear Tea Party. Kids of all ages, along with their favorite bears, enjoy clowns and magicians, participate in a parade, get their bear “checked out” by the Teddy Bear Doctor and have breakfast or a tea-time snack. Two sittings to choose from, 9:30am or 12:30pm. $20 per child. Free for bears. Reservations required.
