Spinoff to where did you grow up? I notice there are a few of us that grew up in Manhattan .....
Or live there now. Where are you from (or live)? I grew up in Stuyvesant Town. When I tell all of our suburban friends and relatives they look at me as if I have three heads. Us city girls are a dying breed?

Born and raised and currently living in Manhattan. So is my DH. It is pretty rare to meet anyone that grew up in the city! I love it! I am the true Carrie of Sex in the City. I live for NYC!

That's funny. I lived right by the "old" Stuyvesant high school. I can't remember when it moved downtown, maybe ten years ago?

I went to the OLD Stuyvesant and took driver's ed over at Friends ... knew a few people who live in Stuy town (whose names completely escape me it was so long ago).
I opened MY first bank account at the Citibank on First Avenue to deposit my paychecks from Paragon and remember buying cigarettes for 89 cents at the 5&10 type store next to it.
