Any brides that changed their name on their passport (ie: amended it) I need your help URGENT!
I just got mine back today but I think the Passport Center did it wrong! Because there's nothing in it about amending it for my name but on the back page it says it was amended to ADD PAGES TO IT! It says on the last page "this passport was amended on Sept 21 2004 to add visa pages to passport number xxxxxxxx"
What the heck??????? I filled out the right form for name change. I gave a CERTIFIED copy of our marriage license, and I even expedited it ($60) so I knew I'd get it back in time and now I have to do it again?
So if anyone got a name change - what does it say on the last page of your passport?
What really gets me is that the passport wasn't even used (I renewed it a few years ago thinking I was going to be travelling but then didn't travel after all) so why would they think I would need MORE pages - none were even used up!

Yeah, seems like they made a mistake. I just got around to doing mine and the last page is typed (I could've done it myself - it doesn't look "official" at all!!) and says the last name was changed from B... to C.... on such and such a date.

That's waht I thought it should say. What idiots. My marriage cert was included - hint hint people!  Now another $60 to spend to get them to do it RIGHT. I'm so annoyed. What if they screw it up again?

I would get a phone number for the passport office where it was done, probably South Carolina, and tell them it was done wrong. You should not have to pay again for their mistake.

You are right I shouldn't. However I will do it just because knowing me, whoever opens the package will think I DON'T want it expedited b/c no $60 fee and I won't get my passport bakc in time for our Nov 3 trip out of the country!!!!!
I do have the # and I am going to call and tell them they screwed it up!!!!!!
I could also wait until 14 days before the trip and go to CT to the walk in center and have it done same day but I can't afford any more days off

You can go to the Court office in Hempstead (if you live in Town of hempstead). They have a whole passport office, that's where FI applied for his... and it would be an actual human you can speak to, and show your passport to.
Let me know if you need me to look up their number for you.
