First of the Deodorant Tryouts today - read on...
Picked 2 at random and decided to wear a light blue top (figured that would show any problems!)
The left pit is Lady Speed Stick Clean
The right pit is Secret Platinum Invisible
I got to work at 7:30 and decided I would check in with the products at 9:00, 12:00, 3:00 and 5:00.
I have a co-worker who is coming to the wedding who will help if any sniff tests are needed.
At 9:00:
The left pit (Lady Speed Stick) is very dry and no marks - seems to smell fine
The right pit (Secret Platinum) is also perfectly dry and mark free at this point, smell is excellent

I love Secret Platinum! I actually refused to have our wedding in spring or summer just because i would sweat to death. 
The cream one seems to work better for me than the clear gel kind.

I use Secret Platinum cream also, and it's awesome! I am pretty picky, and that seems to work the best! I even wear it with strapless / tank tops instead of clear deoderant (I just blot it with a tissue and I never get any marks!)!!!

Be careful, you might want to do each for two days, one on each pit.
I find that one pit sweats more than the other if I am sitting at hte computer because one arm tends to stay relaxed on the desk, close to my side, so the pit is almost 'closed'. The other is waving around, using the mouse, answering the phone, etc, getting aired out. It doesn't sweat as much.
Just food for thought. hehe
P.S. I also like Secret Platinum.

I actually am not a huge fan of Secret Platinum, at least the powder scented one. It starts to get a weird smell after 6 hours. Or maybe I'm just stinky--who knows I really like Mitchum though. I love how scientific this test is--sniffers and all!

That must be one helluva friend to do a sniff test!!!!
I actaully missed this thread. I used to have problems from hs until 2002 when I asked a doctor what to do and he prescribed aluminum chloride (it's the main ingredient in anti perspirants) I would put it on at bed and I swear - no problems at all anymore. I haven't used the stuff in ages and half the time I forget to wear deordorant because I don't sweat (or stink) anymore!

This is too funny. I agree with the poster above who prefers the "cream" like formulas to the gels. I always feel like I have wet underarms with the gels - I don't think it ever drys.
I say you need to use them under the same underarms and not switch. Maybe it needs a cumulative effect?
