NWR-How Long are you and DH going to wait....
to have kids....
And how many do you both want (if you know).
I'll start...
We fluctuate a lot...but at least a year before we start trying maybe two...even though i am 28 I am not ready right now.....
I would love three...but I am pretty sure we will have just two.
ETS- Give your age in your response.

We'll probably wait 4-5 years to have kids. FH wants 3, I want 2 or 3...but we will take whatever we are blessed with.

Re: NWR-How Long are you and DH going to wait....
Honestly, I don't even want to think about that right now. I just want to get to the wedding, then the HM and then enjoy home and travel.
I would say not for another 2 years at least. I am 29, but I am not ready.
I want 1 child, but I think we will have 2, because both my parents have no brothers or sisters and they said it was pretty lonely growing up.

Re: NWR-How Long are you and DH going to wait....
Okay let me ask...is it important to you the amount of years between each kid. I know I have two friends who have a kid and both are trying for a second one because one wants one who is 2 years later then the other one and the other one is trying because as she says "isn't that normal spacing"
I would wait to be more secure then both of them, but I wonder if after you have a kid if it becomes an issue to have kids who are close in age....

Re: NWR-How Long are you and DH going to wait....
I dont want them right after another for a few reasons. 1 - I have a friend who had 4 all with a year or less apart from eachother. The doctor told her numerous times that it is bad for your body and you have to give yourself at least 2 years inbetween.. well she didnt listen and herself and her youngest child wound up with diabeties. 2- Easier said then done! Having one of my own and being SO CLOSE to him.. I cant even imagine taking away even a drop of attention from him.. esp. at this fun and crucial age when he really needs all the attention he can get. 3 - Ohmigod I am sooooo tired after chasing him all day I cant imagine taking care of a baby to top it off!! I mean when you FINALLY can sleep through the whole night do you want to start that all over again? lol

I've heard that! Sometimes I just feel weird about it...since we dated it was always when are you getting engaged, now we have been engaged its like when are you going to have kids......errrrr......
But I love FH....he goes if you want them in 6 months we wil have them (we are financially secure with a house right now so we could have them if we wanted to), if you want them in two years we will have them then...you are the one who deals with it for 9 months and have to go through child birth......
Isn't he the best..............

Thanks...sometimes i feel insecure becuase there are so many of my friends and people i know who want and need to have kids but don't becuase they are not financially ready for it and I feel bad that I still want to go out and have a good time....not just that...but sleep in, make my own schedule......

why do you feel bad?? Listen- after you have kids- any thoughts of being "selfish" go out the window.. sleep in now, go out and have fun.. Not saying you can't do that after you are a parent-- there are just less opportunities.
Whay are you making yourself so crazy?? YOu need to make the right decisions for you, and not compare yourself to what you think everyone else is doing.

Re: NWR-How Long are you and DH going to wait....
I know you are right and i hear it from everyone...none of my friends except 2 have kids and they go out all the time....I just sometimes feel guilty, but in the end its mine and FH decision....and we are the most important.
However, I would still like to hear about Future Brides, or recent brides, Or soon to be moms and dads responses....
I love it how everyone is so diffrent on this borad and that is why I love to find out everyones ideas about kids...

I am 24-FH is 26. We plan on waiting, I would like to be 90% finished with my Master's.(1-2years)
I would like to be "finished" having children by the time I am 30. I don't know if this will happen. I would like to have my no longer than 2-3 years apart. I want them to be very close to eachother

Re: NWR-How Long are you and DH going to wait....
We are definately going to wait a few years. We are so young and we want to enjoy some of our time together before we start having children. When we do have children, I want to have them close together. FH and his siblings are all very close in age and they are very close together. They went through similar experiences and were always there for eachother. Though I'm close to my siblings, we're not all that close and I feel that it is because of the gaps in our ages. JMO though.

Re: NWR-How Long are you and DH going to wait....
I'll be 32 when we get married...so tick tock...but honestly I'm not ready - not sure if I ever will be. I always envisioned the 2 kids a boy and girl...older boy and about 2-3 years apart...but I never quite envisioned them being mine
Not against it, but not ready...
