Land's End Review...(Long)
First I want to say that DH and I almost booked Land's End. We chose FF for many reasons, but realized last night the Land's End would not have disappointed us at all.
Cocktail hour started at 7, it was outside on the deck by the water. (BREATHTAKING)...gorgeous view...all of our friends took pics on the beach and the gazebo by the water just for fun. It was chilly last night, but the view was so nice that I didnt mind being cold at all. They passed around tropical drinks, and the bar outside was excellent as well. If I had to say anything negative, I would just say that there werent tons of choices of food for cocktail hour. But the eggplant and pasta were delicious, and the passed food was terrific! (Baby lamb chops and shrimp and scallop skewers were a huge hit with my friends)
Reception started at 8: There was a bit of a crowd to get place cards, because everyone was outside for the CH. Nobody got their card in advance, but it was no big deal.
The ballroom is just gorgeous, very elegant. Upon arrival our first course was already set, and waitors came to our table immediately to tell us to look over the menus and took drink orders.
At land's end you rarely have to go to bar. The waitors take amazing care of you! They brought me full glasses of champagne all night! The first course was a cucumber, tomato fresh mozzerella salad...so delicious!!!
I also want to add that it is a nice touch the land's end prints menus for the wedding. FF did that too, and I love it!
Next course: Breaded eggplant and cheese on top of a portobella mushroom! SO YUMMY!
I noticed that the maitre d was excellent. She was by the bride at all times. I did not notice a bridal attendant though.
The flowers on the table were from burtons, and they were stunning, as were the bo-k's!
For main course, there were 5 choices! Filet Mignon (which I had, it was great) A fish dish (sorry cant remember) Lobster and Shrimp Crepes (DH had this and it was OUTSTANDING) Pork Chops Lasagna
Everyone at our table had something different, and everyone loved the food!
At 11:00 the cordial room opened which was a very nice touch!
Dessert: the dessert at Land's End is amazing! We each got a plate with a slice of wedding cake (chocolate, with cannoli filling and white fondont...AMAZING) A mini chocolate cheesecake....also terrific. A fruit tart And a chocolate dipped strawberry!
I ate so much dessert! It was fabulous. The cake was a beach theme with star fish and shells on it, made by Audreys, It was beautiful!!!
When the wedding was ending you each got an individually wrapped chocolate truffle. Again, this was a nice touch that I also loved at FF!
All in all it was an amazing wedding. Land's End brides, fear not, it will be worth every penny!
